We expanded the mudroom 8' into the garage to reduce how crowded the space is when the whole family arrives home at once. 4 closed off locker spaces keep this room looking clean and organized. This room also functions as the laundry room with stacked washer and dryer to save space next to the white farmhouse apron sink with aberesque tile backsplash. At the end of the room we added a full height closet style cabinet for additional coats, boots and shoes. A light grey herringbone tile on the floor helps the whole room flow together. Walnut bench and accent shelf provide striking pops of bold color to the room.

The island is a dark charcoal with cool undertones that coordinates with the cabinetry and transom work in both the neighboring mudroom and breakfast area. White subway tile, quartz countertops, white enamel pendants and gold fixtures complete the update. The ends of the island are shiplap material that is also used on the fireplace in the next room. In the new mudroom, we used a fun porcelain tile on the floor to get a pop of pattern, and walnut accents add some warmth. Each child has their own cubby, and there is a spot for shoes below a long bench. Open shelving with spots for baskets provides additional storage for the room. The entry way was designed to be eye catching and soothing. Using a mix of materials on the floor that is and a cozy built in seating area is both contemporary and charming.

This side entrance is full of special character and elements with Old Chicago Brick floors and arch which also leads to the garage and back brick patio! This is the perfect setting for the beach to endure the sand coming in on those bare feet! Fletcher Isaacs Photographer

The mudroom was in desperate need of a refresh. We put a rustic, white-washed herringbone brick tile on the floor, which adds so much character to the space, plus it’s enormously practical. Speaking of practicality, we added a row of mudroom lockers and a bench with loads of storage, plus plenty of room to slide shoes under the drawers. We love how the natural, character-grade oak cabinets pair with the white cabinetry, which is original to the home but with new drawer fronts. We had so much fun designing this cozy little room, from the wood slat detail on the walls to the vintage-inspired ceramic knobs on the bench drawers.

The mudroom entry off the garage is expansive and houses a dog washing station, a second laundry for pool towels and muddy athletic clothing. We did gorgeous custom cabinetry in this pretty teal color with the gold decorative metal screening to allow the lockers to breath.

This spacious mudroom in Scotch Plains, NJ, provided plenty of storage for a growing family. Drawers, locker doors with screen openings and high shelves provided enabled the mudroom to maintain a tidy appearance. Galaxy Construction, In House Photography.

Main entry had a wall closing off the stairs & the closet facing 90 degrees & parallel to stairs closing in the space. We removed the wall, added railings & turned the closet 90 degrees to open the entire area.

This mudroom was part of a new custom home and features a modern style mixing white cabinetry with walnut bench that wraps up and frames the hanging space. Shiplap wall gives a durable surface for hanging coats on. a small accent shelf allows for keys, purse, and accessories storage.

This beautiful French Provincial home is set on 10 acres, nestled perfectly in the oak trees. The original home was built in 1974 and had two large additions added; a great room in 1990 and a main floor master suite in 2001. This was my dream project: a full gut renovation of the entire 4,300 square foot home! I contracted the project myself, and we finished the interior remodel in just six months. The exterior received complete attention as well. The 1970s mottled brown brick went white to completely transform the look from dated to classic French. Inside, walls were removed and doorways widened to create an open floor plan that functions so well for everyday living as well as entertaining. The white walls and white trim make everything new, fresh and bright. It is so rewarding to see something old transformed into something new, more beautiful and more functional.
