View of the generous foyer, it was decided to retain the original travertine flooring since it works well with the new bamboo flooring . The entry closet bifold doors were replaced with custom made shoji doors. A Mies Van Der Rohe 3 seater bench was purchased , along with an asian wool area carpet and asian antique console in vibrant reds. The walls are painted Benjamin Moore , 'Brandon Beige'.

The foyer is bright and elegant with its brick shaped travertine floors and the antique feel of the runner going up the wood and wrought iron staircase. The walls have a faux finish with texture but are light for a more modern feel. Lighting from Troy add to the landing above that grabs your attention when you enter the home.

Comfortable yet elegant for that homeowner that actually lives in their spaces! The two story sheer window treatment keeps the open airy feeling of the Foyer. The wall sconces flank the Foyer Chest.

Entrance hallway in a period property, with limestone floors including a cabochon, and custom cabinet. We used a large pendant light in a gilt finish and table lamps to provide lighting.

This formal living room was created by punctuating layers of deep blues and airy seafoam greens with bright goldenrod accents. Clean lines were combined with rustic textures to maintain a consistent feel with the rest of the home. The sofa, chairs, bench and shutters were customized for this particular space. New accessories were mixed in with some of the homeowner's most treasured trinkets.

Based on extensive interviews with our clients, one of our challenges of this job was to provide a practical and useable home for a couple who worked hard and played hard. They wanted a home that would be comfortable for them and since they entertained often, they required function yet desired drama and style. We worked with them from the ground up, selecting finishes, materials and fixtures for the entire home. We achieved comfort by using deep furniture pieces with white goose down cushions, suitable for curling up on. Colors and materials were selected based on rich tones and textures to provide drama while keeping with the practicality they desired. We also used eclectic pieces like the oversized chair and ottoman in the great room to add an unexpected yet comfortable touch. The chair is of a Balinese style with a unique wood frame offering a graceful balance of curved and straight lines. The floor plan was created to be conducive to traffic flow, necessary for entertaining. The other challenge we faced, was to give each room its own identity while maintaining a consistent flow throughout the home. Each space shares a similar color palette, attention to detail and uniqueness, while the furnishings, draperies and accessories provide individuality to each room.
