Condos are often a challenge – can’t move water, venting has to remain connected to existing ducting and recessed cans may not be an option. In this project, we had an added challenge – we could not lower the ceiling on the exterior wall due to a continual leak issue that the HOA has put off due to the multi-million-dollar expense. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: Work Centers: prep, baking, clean up, message, beverage and entertaining. Vignette Design: avoid wall to wall cabinets, enhance the work center philosophy Geometry: create a more exciting and natural flow ANGLES: the baking center features a Miele wall oven and Liebherr Freezer, the countertop is 36” deep (allowing for an extra deep appliance garage with stainless tambour). CURVES: the island, desk and ceiling is curved to create a more natural flow. A raised drink counter in Sapele allows for “bellying up to the bar” CIRCLES: the 60” table (seating for 6) is supported by a steel plate and a custom column (used also to support the end of the curved desk – not shown) ISLAND CHALLENGE: To install recessed cans and connect to the existing ducting – we dropped the ceiling 6”. The dropped ceiling curves at the end of the island to the existing ceiling height at the pantry/desk area of the kitchen. This Kitchen remodel was designed by Jeff from our Manchester Showroom. This remodel features Dewills cabinetry with flat-panel door style and light brown color finish. This kitchen also features a granite countertop with Rainforest color with waterfall edge. Other features include extra-long Bar pull Satin Nickel hardware and cork flooring with beige color.

A Gilmans Kitchens and Baths - Design Build Project (REMMIES Award Winning Kitchen) The original kitchen lacked counter space and seating for the homeowners and their family and friends. It was important for the homeowners to utilize every inch of usable space for storage, function and entertaining, so many organizational inserts were used in the kitchen design. Bamboo cabinets, cork flooring and neolith countertops were used in the design. Storage Solutions include a spice pull-out, towel pull-out, pantry pull outs and lemans corner cabinets. Bifold lift up cabinets were also used for convenience. Special organizational inserts were used in the Pantry cabinets for maximum organization. The open plan entry, kitchen, living, dining, with a whole wall of frameless folding doors highlighting the gorgeous harbor view is what dreams are made of. The space isn't large, but our design maximized every inch and brought the entire condo together. Our goal was to have a cohesive design throughout the whole house that was unique and special to our Client yet could be appreciated by anyone. Sparing no attention to detail, this Moroccan theme feels comfortable and fashionable all at the same time. The mixed metal finishes and warm wood cabinets and beams along with the sparkling backsplash and beautiful lighting and furniture pieces make this room a place to be remembered. Warm and inspiring, we don't want to leave this amazing space~

The new dormer allowed part of the kitchen ceiling to be raised, which provided a source for daylight with a rounded clerestory window (repeating the elliptical shape of the trayed ceiling, the island, and the new exterior stone wall). Two new patio doors give wonderful access to the private patio.

This cozy kitchen was completed in conjuction with J.A.R Remodeling. The all natural hickory doors are the centerpiece of this kitchen, revealing the beautiful natural graining that hickory is loved for. The off white quartz countertops are a great contrast for the cabinets and also provides a clean looking prep area for cooking. Definitely a unique look that allows for the natural wood to be the star of the show! ​This kitchen was designed for The House and Garden show house which was organised by the IDDA (now The British Institute of Interior Design). Tim Wood was invited to design the kitchen for the showhouse in the style of a Mediterranean villa. Tim Wood designed the kitchen area which ran seamlessly into the dining room, the open garden area next to it was designed by Kevin Mc Cloud. This bespoke kitchen was made from maple with quilted maple inset panels. All the drawers were made of solid maple and dovetailed and the handles were specially designed in pewter. The work surfaces were made from white limestone and the sink from a solid limestone block. A large storage cupboard contains baskets for food and/or children's toys. The larder cupboard houses a limestone base for putting hot food on and flush maple double sockets for electrical appliances. This maple kitchen has a pale and stylish look with timeless appeal.
