The clients lived in a beautiful Arts & Crafts style home but their kitchen was contemporary with white laminate cabinets & countertops resulting in a discordant feel to the rest of their home. An open concept family kitchen with Arts and Crafts elements was created using rich wood tones and dark iron hardware alongside the colorful tile backsplash and mission style lighting. Multiple work zones and a banquet seating area make this kitchen the heart of their home and a gathering place for all.

We gave this small, dark kitchen a creative, bold, and bright new design! With a need for more functionality, light, and style we installed fresh new marble counters and a large kitchen island. Additional storage was added throughout the space with plenty of pull-out drawers and cabinets. The final touch was painting the kitchen island a deep red, which paired beautifully with the warm hue of the butcher block countertop. We extended the feel of the kitchen by removing a wall that connected to an adjacent bedroom, thus creating a bright and airy space with plenty of natural light and a feeling of openness. The connecting room went through minor changes as well, outfitted with custom drawers to match the kitchen cabinets, tying the spaces together seamlessly with the rest of the home. The challenge for this mountain home in Conifer Colorado was to update the kitchen with a mountain look, bringing it into alignment with the rest of the home. Budget parameters prevented fully replacing cabinets, so upper cabinet doors were replaced with a more contemporary door style and all cabinets were refinished. The island was re-designed and replaced with a new shape and new cabinets allowing for more storage. New stainless appliances, engineered stone countertops and slate mosaic tiles for the back-splash completed the project.

A sophisticated and intriguing kitchen and entertaining hub of the home. Glass and stainless tiles bring out the stainless steel appliances and create a contemporary setting for collected treasures from around the world.

We added some modern bar stools to tie the traditional island in with the more modern cabinetry. New Backsplash was applied and a new grey blue paint color to make the cabinets and architectural details pop.
