The brief for this design was to create a contemporary space with Indian inspiration. A tapestry of the Goddess Kali formed the basis of the design with rich oranges, warm greens and golds featuring throughout the space. The kitchen was built at the rear of the space and designed from scratch. Tiffany lighting, luxurious fabrics and reclaimed furniture are just a few of the standout features in this design.

This design scheme blends femininity, sophistication, and the bling of Art Deco with earthy, natural accents. An amoeba-shaped rug breaks the linearity in the living room that’s furnished with a lady bug-red sleeper sofa with gold piping and another curvy sofa. These are juxtaposed with chairs that have a modern Danish flavor, and the side tables add an earthy touch. The dining area can be used as a work station as well and features an elliptical-shaped table with gold velvet upholstered chairs and bubble chandeliers. A velvet, aubergine headboard graces the bed in the master bedroom that’s painted in a subtle shade of silver. Abstract murals and vibrant photography complete the look. For this expansive kitchen renovation, Designer, Randy O’Kane of Bilotta Kitchens worked with interior designer Gina Eastman and architect Clark Neuringer. The backyard was the client’s favorite space, with a pool and beautiful landscaping; from where it’s situated it’s the sunniest part of the house. They wanted to be able to enjoy the view and natural light all year long, so the space was opened up and a wall of windows was added. Randy laid out the kitchen to complement their desired view. She selected colors and materials that were fresh, natural, and unique – a soft greenish-grey with a contrasting deep purple, Benjamin Moore’s Caponata for the Bilotta Collection Cabinetry and LG Viatera Minuet for the countertops. Gina coordinated all fabrics and finishes to complement the palette in the kitchen. The most unique feature is the table off the island. Custom-made by Brooks Custom, the top is a burled wood slice from a large tree with a natural stain and live edge; the base is hand-made from real tree limbs. They wanted it to remain completely natural, with the look and feel of the tree, so they didn’t add any sort of sealant. The client also wanted touches of antique gold which the team integrated into the Armac Martin hardware, Rangecraft hood detailing, the Ann Sacks backsplash, and in the Bendheim glass inserts in the butler’s pantry which is glass with glittery gold fabric sandwiched in between. The appliances are a mix of Subzero, Wolf and Miele. The faucet and pot filler are from Waterstone. The sinks are Franke. With the kitchen and living room essentially one large open space, Randy and Gina worked together to continue the palette throughout, from the color of the cabinets, to the banquette pillows, to the fireplace stone. The family room’s old built-in around the fireplace was removed and the floor-to-ceiling stone enclosure was added with a gas fireplace and flat screen TV, flanked by contemporary artwork. In order to get a kitchen like no other, one has to come up with an idea from scratch. The client requested a look that bridged the classic Ralph Lauren with the chic Ralph Lauren. Using bendix beaded and greek key mouldings, Jess designed a kitchen that had the feel of furniture, The bold addition of color in the glass interior cabinets added a great energy to the space and was modernized by the glittering Carerra mosaic backsplash. Brass lion add distinction to the cabinets, but nothing is as surprising as the antique Belgian mounts above the stove!

This cozy kitchen was completed in conjuction with J.A.R Remodeling. The all natural hickory doors are the centerpiece of this kitchen, revealing the beautiful natural graining that hickory is loved for. The off white quartz countertops are a great contrast for the cabinets and also provides a clean looking prep area for cooking. Definitely a unique look that allows for the natural wood to be the star of the show! Retaining the original kitchen location and size helped contain costs. A partition wall separating the back door from the kitchen was removed and the pantry wall and counter return added for storage.
