Show House Type A in Drakes Point, Crosshaven.

Interior Designer & Homestager Celene Collins (info@celenecollins.ie) beautifully finished this show house for new housing estate Drake's Point in Crosshaven,Cork recently using some of our products. This is showhouse type A. In the Hallway, living room and front room area, she opted for "Authentic Herringbone - Superior Walnut" a 12mm laminate board which works very well with the warm tones she had chosen for the furnishings. In the expansive Kitchen / Dining area she chose the "Kenay Gris Shiny [60]" Polished Porcelain floor tile, a stunning cream & white marbled effect tile with a veining of grey-brown allowing this tile to suit with almost colour choice. In the master ensuite, she chose the "Lumier Blue [16.5]" mix pattern porcelain tile for the floor, with a standard White Metro tile for the shower area and above the sink.

Whole house refurbishment and extension of Edwardian House in Bristol

DHV Architects

The beautiful original Edwardian flooring in this hallway has been restored to its former glory. Wall panelling has been added up to dado rail level. The leaded door glazing has been restored too.

Photos by Jack Allan Long hallway on entry. Wall was badly bashed up and patched with different paints, so added an angled half-painted section from the doorway to cover marks. Ceiling is 15+ feet high and would be difficult to paint all white! Mirror sconce secondhand.

Positioned at the base of Camelback Mountain this hacienda is muy caliente! Designed for dear friends from New York, this home was carefully extracted from the Mrs’ mind. She had a clear vision for a modern hacienda. Mirroring the clients, this house is both bold and colorful. The central focus was hospitality, outdoor living, and soaking up the amazing views. Full of amazing destinations connected with a curving circulation gallery, this hacienda includes water features, game rooms, nooks, and crannies all adorned with texture and color. This house has a bold identity and a warm embrace. It was a joy to design for these long-time friends, and we wish them many happy years at Hacienda Del Sueño. 廊下をデコレーションしてみよう！

窓もなく、ただまっすぐ伸びる廊下はどことなく殺風景。そこで、お気に入りの写真や絵画、アートを飾って、ギャラリーのように廊下をおしゃれに仕立ててみましょう。賃貸などで壁に穴をあけられなければ、額に入れた作品を床に置き、壁に立てかけておくのもおすすめ。また、廊下の角や玄関ホールなど、邪魔にならないところにスツールを置いて観葉植物や花瓶を置くのもいいですね。スペースが取れるようであれば、廊下に机やいすを置いて書斎のような使い方にするのもいいでしょう。いずれにせよ、廊下に物を置くようであれば、特に夜、足をひっかけないよう、足元灯の設置は必須です。

廊下と玄関ホールのバリアフリー

家族の介護が必要となったときに、一番に考えるのは廊下や玄関ホールなど家のバリアフリー化でしょう。廊下はリビングやダイニングほど施工費用をかけていませんし、明るさも広さも新築時にはあまり重要視されていないことが多いですが、暗くて狭い廊下では高齢者の転倒事故が起こりやすく、危険な環境になっている家も多いのです。バリアフリーのリフォームを施すことで、部屋と廊下の境となる敷居などの段差をなくし、手すりをつけ、窓からの採光や、照明・足元灯で明るくし、広さを確保することなどが叶えられます。手すりであれば簡単に取り付けやすそうと思われがちですが、使う人の背の高さに合わせなければ補助にならなかったり、手を滑らせる原因となりますし、取り付けが甘いと体重をかけたときに大変危険です。専門家に相談しましょう。また、お住まいの地域によっては行政からバリアフリー化工事のための補助金制度があるので、調べてみるといいでしょう。
