For this 1928 bungalow in the Historic Houston Heights we remodeled the home to give a sense of order to the small home. The spaces that existed were choppy and doors everywhere. In a small space doors can really eat into your living area. We took our cues for style from our contemporary loving clients and their Craftsman bungalow. Our remodel plans focused on the kitchen and den area. There’s a formal living and then an additional living area off the back of the kitchen. We brought purpose to the back den by creating built-ins centered around the windows for their book collection. The window seats and the moveable chairs are seating for the many parties our client’s like to throw. The original kitchen had multiple entries. We closed off a door to the master bedroom to move the refrigerator. That enabled us to open the wall to the front of the house creating a sense of a much larger space while also providing a great flow for entertaining. To reflect our client’s contemporary leaning style we kept the materials white and simple in a way that fits with the house style but doesn’t feel fussy.

This small space packs a punch. With the dark wood floors and the bright white walls the bright colors have a great foundation to pop off of. Outside of the box thinking with two drapery colors and a crystal chandelier. The Green West Elm sofa sits in front of open bookshelves. The wall book shelf is attached and great for small space storage. Using the vertical space and saving valuable floor space. incorporating vintage tables and a bright colorful chair adds a ton of character to this small condo. Книжный шкаф выполнен на заказ из старого "трофейного" немецкого шкафа для одежды первой половины 20 века. Мебель и аксессуары из разных уголков света.

Ce triplex parisien était triste. Les volumes n’étaient pas exaltés à cause d’une grande masse de bois sur les escaliers, les rambardes, la mezzanine et la couleur du sol. Tout cela comprimait visuellement l’espace, donnant une sensation de confinement. Le parquet a été peint en blanc cassé, ainsi que les marches et la structure bois de l’escalier. La rambarde de la mezzanine en bois a été remplacée par une paroi en verre transparent, soutenue par une structure métallique. Les garde-corps ont été conçus de façon épurée : un tube de section carrée en acier inoxydable fait le tour de l’escalier et de la rambarde. L’espace a gagné en luminosité et les volumes sont finalement mis en valeur.
