When this family approached Gayler Design Build, they had a unique, octagon-shaped room that lacked flow and modern amenities. The home initially was constructed from three small houses that were "joined" together to create this unusual shape. It was important for the family to keep the open floor plan but add more functional space, to include new cabinetry and a large center island. In order to build the open floor plan, Gayler Design Build had to design around a central post and refinish the octagon concrete flooring, which was cut to reconfigure items in space and access sewer lines, etc.

Richard & Caroline's kitchen was one of the biggest spaces we've had the pleasure of working on, yet this vast space has a very homely and welcoming feeling. Texture has played a huge part in this design, with a mixture of materials all working in harmony and adding interest. This property could be classed as a modern farmhouse, and the interior reflects this mix of traditional and modern. It's home to a young family, and we're loving Caroline's playful use of colour and accessories! As well as the meticulously designed kitchen, we created a modern storage area at the dining end to pull the two spaces together.

Now, instead of feeling like you were banished to the small dingy kitchen to do every day cooking and cleaning, the kitchen is a destination spot where the whole family likes to hang out. Complete with crisp white custom cabinetry, neutral quartz countertops, a large stunning kitchen island, prep sink and coffee bar. This contemporary kitchen in Buckinghamshire, designed for a family spanning three generations, was nominated for a 2020 design award. This kitchen, like so many KCA kitchens, was designed with family at the heart of the project. What makes this kitchen design all the more special is the family’s involvement in the process - even the family dog, Pablo, attended the design consultation. The design is open-plan, with individual zones for cooking, dining and lounging in the informal living area. With three generations living together, the design ensures that each member of the family can enjoy the space both individually and together. The German Systemat cabinetry is finished in both Grey Pine and Putty Concrete, creating a contrasting palette that feels both warm and contemporary. The wooden textures are enhanced by sights of the garden available through the large bi-folding doors, which connect the kitchen to the outside. The peninsula kitchen island features a Silestone worktop and chunky L-shaped breakfast bar overhang, finished in two complementary tones. A smoked mirror feature wall provides the backdrop to the peninsula, detailed with open shelving; the perfect place to display the client's yoga ornaments.

Open plan kitchen with satin matt lacquered handle-less furniture in a combination of ‘Inky Blue’ and ‘Mid-Grey’. With 'Rugged Concrete’ Quartz worktops by Caesarstone, and ‘Laurel Oak’ flooring by Moduleo, supplied and fitted in a herringbone pattern by us. Integrated oven plus microwave combi-oven, warming drawer and induction hob all by Miele.

Tired of their dated kitchen, the owners of this suburban colonial were eager for a contemporary update with more pantry space, better organization, and performance appliances. Monochromatic cabinetry in matte white lacquer set the sleek new vibe. Not even handles interrupt the flow, as cabinet channels and push-to-open hardware uphold the minimalist look. In the large, open kitchen, an 18-foot wood grain laminate feature wall seamlessly integrates appliances in a T-formation. Two kitchen islands are crafted in the contrasting countertop material, one with a wraparound white and gray quartz countertop that matches the backsplash. The second kitchen island has a white quartz surface.
