Работа над этим проектом имела свои уникальные особенности, связанные с пожеланиями заказчика и исходными данными квартиры. Необходимо было сделать две отдельные жилые комнаты и кухню-столовую. В квартире только 3 окна, расположенные в одной стене, это и определило размещение и габариты комнат, в каждой из которых должно быть окно. Холл и санузлы находятся у противоположной стены. Таким образом планировка, которую мы предложили практически не отличается от исходной.

A beautifully custom designed kitchen and wine display that would make any wine lovers dream come true. Naturally Translucent Marble was used to create the background and LED lights were installed behind it to create this spectacular look! Stainless Steel Wine Cables were used to floating the wine bottles and a 3/8” glass enclosed to seal the momentum. Custom cabinetry from Bellmont’s Italian inspired Vero line with C-channels which sets it apart from any other cabinetry in the industry. A Wolf Beverage Center, Axor Faucet, and Blanco Bar Sink complete the party!

TOC design There were many challenges to this kitchen prior to its makeover: Insufficient lighting, No traffic flow, Height of individual cooks, Low ceilings, Dark, Cluttered, No space for entertaining, Enclosed space, Appliances blocking traffic, Inadequate counter prep space. With so many problems there was only one solution - gut the space including the surrounding areas like the dining room and living rooms to be able to create an open concept. We eliminated the upper wall cabinets, installed extra windows to bring in the natural light, added plenty of lighting,( for task, general, and decorative aspects) We kept colors warm and light throughout, Created a wall of tall utility cabinets, incorporating appliances and a multitude of functional storage. Designed cabinets to blend into the space. By removing all existing surrounding walls and landing step a larger footprint was designed to house an oversize island with different heights for each cooks’ comfort, thus being able to pass through easily, giving a traffic flow space between 42” to 60”. The Island was designed for better entertainment, prep work and plenty of storage but taking into consideration to NOT over dominate the space and obtrude the line of site. The use of warm tone materials such as natural walnut is the key element to the space and by adding it to the niche area, it balances the contrast of the light colors and creates a richness and warmth to the space. Some of the special features used where: Hidden practical elements added to be very functional yet unobtrusive; ie: garage door to hide all small appliances, a step ladder hidden inside the toe kick, food processor lift ,basket tilt at sink area, pull out coffee station. All features require less bending and heavy lifting. Under mount LED strip lighting at lunch counter and Niche area, Enhances the area and gives a floating appearance. Wine service area for easy entertaining, and self service. Concealed vent system at cook top, is not only practical but enhances the clean line design concept. Because of the low ceiling a large over head hood would have broken up line of site. Products used: Millwork cabinets: The kitchen cabinets doors are made of a flat euro style MDF (medium density fiberboard) base polyurethane lacquer and a vertical glassing application. The Kitchen island cabinet doors are also made out of MDF – large stile shaker doors color: BM-HC-83 ( grant beige) and the lunch counter cabinet doors as well as accentuating elements throughout the kitchen are made in a natural walnut veneer. This luxury dream kitchen was the vision of Diane Berry for her retired clients based in Cheshire. They wanted a kitchen that had lots of worktop and storage space, an island and space for a TV and a couple of chairs and two dining tables one large for entertaining and a small area for casual dining for two to six. The design has an extra tall extension to help bring in a feeling of light and space, allowing natural light to flood to the back of the room. Diane used some amazing materials, the dark oak cross grain doors, Dekton concrete worktops and Miele graphite grey ovens. Buster and Punch pendant lights add the finishing touches and some amazing pieces of modern art add the personality of the clients. Super large format floor tiles bring a simple calm base for the room and help with the work factor of the fully mitred Dekton island, the angled knee recess for the bar stools draws in the angled ceiling and roof lights above the bookcase, and in this area Acupanel vertical timber wall neatly opens to allow access to service neatly concealed behind. Diane Berry and her team worked closely with Prime construction ltd who carried out the construction works, lots of hard work by many tradesmen brought this dream kitchen to fruition.

It’s rare when a client comes to me with a brief for a complete home from scratch, but that is exactly what happened here. My client, a professional musician and singer, was having a luxury three-story condo built and wanted help choosing not only all the hardscape materials like tile, flooring, carpet, and cabinetry, but also all furniture and furnishings. I even outfitted his new home with plates, flatware, pots and pans, towels, sheets, and window coverings. Like I said, this was from scratch! We defined his style direction for the new home including dark colors, minimalistic furniture, and a modern industrial sensibility, and I set about creating a fluid expression of that style. The tone is set at the entry where a custom laser-cut industrial steel sign requests visitors be shoeless. We deliberately limited the color palette for the entire house to black, grey, and deep blue, with grey-washed or dark stained neutral woods. The navy zellige tiles on the backsplash in the kitchen add depth between the cement-textured quartz counters and cerused cabinetry. The island is painted in a coordinating navy and features hand-forged iron stools. In the dining room, horizontal and vertical lines play with each other in the form of an angular linear chandelier, lighted acrylic light columns, and a dining table with a special faceted wave edge. Chair backs echo the shape of the art maps on the wall. We chose a unique, three dimensional wall treatment for the living room where a plush sectional and LED tunable lights set the stage for comfy movie nights. Walls with a repeating whimsical black and white whale skeleton named Bruce adorn the walls of the powder room. The adjacent patio boasts a resort-like feeling with a cozy fire table, a wall of up-lit boxwoods, and a black sofa and chairs for star gazing. A gallery wall featuring a roster of some of my client’s favorite rock, punk, and jazz musicians adorns the stairwell. On the third floor, the primary and guest bathrooms continue with the cement-textured quartz counters and same cerused cabinetry. We completed this well-appointed home with a serene guest room in the established limited color palette and a lounge/office/recording room. All photos by Bernardo Grijalva
