They had the vision of turning an unused alcove in the lower level of their split-level home into a bar. Still, They didn't know exactly how it would come together. In the end, they received more than they ever imagined, thanks to incorporating an adjacent space as a wine cellar to display a small collection.

They also requested a spot for their framed, 3-dimensional Iowa Hawkeyes logo, and storage for various wine and cocktail glasses and dishes for entertaining. The design was to be contemporary in keeping with the feel of the rest of the house, but more timeless than trendy so as not to grow old quickly and negatively affect a future home sale.

Our team was able to achieve all of or clients' goals. They chose a timeless design that is both transitional and contemporary and stayed away from trendy finishes or colors that would require replacement soon. The bar sink is large enough to use an Insinkerator, and its round bowl matches the overall curvy look of the space well. We provided a dishwasher, beverage fridge, wine chiller, and even included a "wine cellar" under the stairway.

Our clients had a wish list for their new wet bar and wine cellar that included a larger-than-bar sink, and an under-counter wine chiller, and beverage fridge. The solution we decided upon was to hide the return grille in plain sight. The recessed cabinet's woven wire doors open to reveal the black-painted interior, allowing the needed airflow back to the furnace.

ホームバーと言うと敷居の高いものを感じるかもしれませんが、お酒を嗜むという環境が家にあるという人は多いのではないのでしょうか。 決まったソファーでお気に入りのお酒を飲む (たまには休日の昼間から？ それもいいでしょう！) これこそ至福のひとときですね。自宅でくつろぎながらお酒を楽しむ空間、ホームバーづくり。バーカウンターや専用キャビネット、ワインセラーがなくても真似できるコンテンポラリースタイルのホームバーのセッティングやアイデアなどをご紹介します。

お手軽なホームバー

ホームパーティーなどでお酒をサーブしたりグラスを返却する場所が決まっていると、準備や片付けもぐっと楽になりますし、ゲストももてなしに満足することでしょう。バーカウンターのある家はもちろんですが、バーカウンターがなくても、インテリアに合わせて、かご、バスケット、木箱などをうまく使ってお酒をディスプレイすれば立派なミニバーに早変わり。キャスター付きのキャビネットがあればつまみなども並べられてより本格的に。カートやワゴンを活用したバーもいいいですね。コンテンポラリースタイルのホームバーを囲んで楽しく家飲みしましょう。

やっぱり本格的なコンテンポラリースタイルのホームバーが欲しい！

キッチンともダイニングとも違う、お酒を楽しむだけの特別な場所、ホームバー。お酒好きにはたまらない空間です。ビール党なら冷蔵庫やビアサーバーを、もしもワインのコレクターであればワインセラーをと、自分の趣味 (酒味？) 嗜好でカスタマイズできるのも、自分だけのバーを持てる醍醐味です。ビアサーバーやホームバーなどの設備は特殊なのでリフォームや新築前に専門家と相談することをおすすめしますが、カウンターやグラスを並べる棚などはDIYするのもいいですね。そして、仕上げに良質なインテリアや照明でちょっぴり背伸びした大人な演出を。愛着が深まり、常に家に人を招きたくなること間違いなしです。
