This was our 2016 Parade Home and our model home for our Cantera Cliffs Community. This unique home gets better and better as you pass through the private front patio courtyard and into a gorgeous entry. The study conveniently located off the entry can also be used as a fourth bedroom. A large walk-in closet is located inside the master bathroom with convenient access to the laundry room. As a conceptual urban infill project, the Wexley is designed for a narrow lot in the center of a city block. The 26’x48’ floor plan is divided into thirds from front to back and from left to right. In plan, the left third is reserved for circulation spaces and is reflected in elevation by a monolithic block wall in three shades of gray. Punching through this block wall, in three distinct parts, are the main levels windows for the stair tower, bathroom, and patio. The right two-thirds of the main level are reserved for the living room, kitchen, and dining room. At 16’ long, front to back, these three rooms align perfectly with the three-part block wall façade. It’s this interplay between plan and elevation that creates cohesion between each façade, no matter where it’s viewed. Given that this project would have neighbors on either side, great care was taken in crafting desirable vistas for the living, dining, and master bedroom. Upstairs, with a view to the street, the master bedroom has a pair of closets and a skillfully planned bathroom complete with soaker tub and separate tiled shower. With an elevator that opens right into the apartment, we designed an entry with a custom faux fur bench, eggplant suede wallcovering, and jewel-like sconces. The Abstract art really sets the tone for the rest of the apartment.

This house is discreetly tucked into its wooded site in the Mad River Valley near the Sugarbush Resort in Vermont. The soaring roof lines complement the slope of the land and open up views though large windows to a meadow planted with native wildflowers. The house was built with natural materials of cedar shingles, fir beams and native stone walls. These materials are complemented with innovative touches including concrete floors, composite exterior wall panels and exposed steel beams. 70年という月日を守り続けてきた農家住宅のリノベーション 建築当時の強靭な軸組みを活かし、新しい世代の住まい手の想いのこもったリノベーションとなった 夏は熱がこもり、冬は冷たい隙間風が入る環境から 開口部の改修、断熱工事や気密をはかり 夏は風が通り涼しく、冬は暖炉が燈り暖かい室内環境にした 空間動線は従来人寄せのための二間と奥の間を一体として家族の団欒と仲間と過ごせる動線とした 北側の薄暗く奥まったダイニングキッチンが明るく開放的な造りとなった
