This exciting project in a stunning panoramic apartment near the top of the second tallest building in London gave Andy Stone the freedom to do what we value most. Luxurious unique furniture incorporating hidden lighting and technology with a touch of the unexpected for the client to amaze his guests. We also re-finished the existing kitchen and all the woodwork throughout the apartment to complement our dark stained walnut furniture. The client’s favorite suite in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York and the unusual shape of the living room inspired the unique angles and finishes designed in the pieces we supplied … - Large contemporary media / colour changing display cabinet for an 85” Plasma Tv & Steinway Sound System with electric lift up opening doors and drawers - Multi tiered and uniquely angled coffee table with Carrara Marble top inlayed with solid Dark Walnut and suede lined electric USB charging drawers - Uniquely angled Carrara Marble with blue crackle glass inlayed dining Table with striking white Gold leafed pedestal legs - LED lit fabric laminated glass fronted pull out sideboard - Solar powered skygarden book and glass display cabinet In the study the feel was a classic English gentlemen’s club with leather clad finger pulled dark Oak furniture using curves to work with the room shape. Hidden within is an array of technology including the Future Automation lift up and swivel TV system and the unexpected here is the colour changing glass display section in the solid dark Oak desktop for the actual Hoverboard from Back to The Future II. ダイニングは家族がそろって向き合うスペース。食卓を囲んで会話がはずめば、食事もいっそうおいしく感じられることでしょう。日本の家庭では、リビングダイニングとしてまとめられている間取りも多いですが、食事をいただく場所ですので、いつも片付いていて清潔に保たれているようにしたいですね。特に、朝食・ランチ・ディナーすべてをダイニングでとるという方は、いっそうインテリアに力を入れたい場所です。ダイニングの多くがキッチンの隣に設置されている場合、デザインに統一感を持たせると空間がすっきりとした印象になります。

コンテンポラリースタイルのダイニングのインテリアは“シンプル”が正解

ダイニングの主役は、ダイニングテーブルに乗る食事です。食事をおいしく食べる場所という役割が明確なダイニングのインテリアは実に悩ましいところです。例えば、レストランではフレンチ、イタリアン、和食、中華とジャンルごとにインテリアも食事に合わせてコーディネートしますが、一般の家庭では今日はイタリアン、今日は和食、とそのときどきによってメニューが変わるのでそうはいきません。なので、どんなものにも合わせやすい、シンプルめなダイニングインテリアで統一するのが正解。その代わり、ランチョンマットを食事によって変えたり、テーブルに季節の花などを飾ったりして、その料理を引き立たせ、かつ、ダイニングルームにアクセントを与えましょう。

コンテンポラリースタイルのダイニングの照明の選び方

ダイニングでは照明も重要なポイント。食材をおいしそうに見せ、家族の“おいしい”顔をはっきり映す照明の選び方を知りましょう。ダイニングの照明は、発色をきれいに見せてくれる白熱球がおすすすめです。ダイニングは照明の使用時間も長いので、導入費用はかかれど寿命が長いLEDのタイプが人気です。特に、食欲をかき立てる“赤色”が鮮やかに見えます。また、陰影がはっきりするので立体感が出て、お料理をいっそう美しく、おいしそうに見せます。さらに、ダイニングにペンダントライトを設置する際には、その高さもポイント。高すぎるとまぶしさを感じ、低すぎるとテーブルの端まで光が当たらず、影ができてしまい、せっかくの料理も引き立ちません。シェード（傘）とテーブルまでの距離は、60〜80cm程度はなれているのが理想です。また、バランスのよいシェードの大きさ（直径）はテーブルのサイズの1/3程度とされています。ダイニングの照明は、実際に設置やシミュレーションをしてみないと、明るさや光の届く範囲がなかなか想定できません。コンテンポラリースタイルのダイニングの広さや間取り、自然光の入る窓の位置などを把握したうえで、照明の専門家に相談するのがおすすめです。
