For our client, who had previous experience working with architects, we enlarged, completely gutted and remodeled this Twin Peaks diamond in the rough. The top floor had a rear-sloping ceiling that cut off the amazing view, so our first task was to raise the roof so the great room had a uniformly high ceiling. Clerestory windows bring in light from all directions. In addition, we removed walls, combined rooms, and installed floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall sliding doors in sleek black aluminum at each floor to create generous rooms with expansive views. At the basement, we created a full-floor art studio flooded with light and with an en-suite bathroom for the artist-owner. New exterior decks, stairs and glass railings create outdoor living opportunities at three of the four levels. We designed modern open-riser stairs with glass railings to replace the existing cramped interior stairs. The kitchen features a 16 foot long island which also functions as a dining table. We designed a custom wall-to-wall bookcase in the family room as well as three sleek tiled fireplaces with integrated bookcases. The bathrooms are entirely new and feature floating vanities and a modern freestanding tub in the master. Clean detailing and luxurious, contemporary finishes complete the look.

This built in mill work is not only a spectacular backdrop to the master bed, but also serves as a natural division in the room to the his and hers dressing areas. It is made from an African hardwood known as Obeche.

A soothing palette of grey, taupe and light blue accents with plenty of texture was what this master bedroom needed to provide a tranquil space to relax and enjoy the outdoor scenery or enjoy a good night's rest.

This project was executed remotely in close collaboration with the client. The primary bedroom actually had an unusual dilemma in that it had too many windows, making furniture placement awkward and difficult. We converted one wall of windows into a full corner-to-corner drapery wall, creating a beautiful and soft backdrop for their bed. We also designed a little boy’s nursery to welcome their first baby boy.

The Master Bedroom suite remained the only real neutral room as far as the color palette. This serves the owners need to escape the daily hustle-bustle and recharge, so it must be calm and relaxing. A softer palette with light off-whites and warm tones. Sheers were added to the doors of the balcony so they could blow in the breeze like a resort but not block the view outside. A sitting area with swivel chairs was added for TV viewing, conversation or reading.

A newly renovated terrace in St Peters needed the final touches to really make this house a home, and one that was representative of it’s colourful owner. This very energetic and enthusiastic client definitely made the project one to remember. With a big brief to highlight the clients love for fashion, a key feature throughout was her personal ‘rock’ style. Pops of ‘rock' are found throughout and feature heavily in the luxe living areas with an entire wall designated to the clients icons including a lovely photograph of the her parents. The clients love for original vintage elements made it easy to style the home incorporating many of her own pieces. A custom vinyl storage unit finished with a Carrara marble top to match the new coffee tables, side tables and feature Tom Dixon bedside sconces, specifically designed to suit an ongoing vinyl collection. Along with clever storage solutions, making sure the small terrace house could accommodate her large family gatherings was high on the agenda. We created beautifully luxe details to sit amongst her items inherited which held strong sentimental value, all whilst providing smart storage solutions to house her curated collections of clothes, shoes and jewellery. Custom joinery was introduced throughout the home including bespoke bed heads finished in luxurious velvet and an excessive banquette wrapped in white Italian leather. This property was completely gutted and redesigned into a single family townhouse. After completing the construction of the house I staged the furniture, lighting and decor. Staging is a new service that my design studio is now offering.
