Our Hollywoods living room was designed with beautiful shiplap ceilings. This open space combined with the natural light from the windows allows for the best possible pairing. The floors are medium hardwood which are matched nicely with the white walls.

Finding elements that were not only stylish but also durable was crucial to the overall design and styling of this space as this doubles as a vacation rental for our client. Mixing style with functionality. We kept the original ceiling in the living room as well as the original cement accent wall in the living room. Everything else was changed. A window was added to the stair wall so that as you walk downstairs, you get a view of the ocean. The walls were painted a barely-there minty seafoam color and we stuck with a neutral color palette with pops of various shades of blues. Built-ins were installed to create a working space that doubles as extra storage. The sectional has a chaise that is used to store bedding and the middle part of the sectional pulls out to provide additional sleeping space for guests. The 3 paintings above the sofa were custom painted for the client's space, as well as the dining table and chairs. The rug is a beautiful piece that ties in all of the colors found throughout the downstairs space.

Extraordinary Pass-A-Grille Beach Cottage! This was the original Pass-A-Grill Schoolhouse from 1912-1915! This cottage has been completely renovated from the floor up, and the 2nd story was added. It is on the historical register. Flooring for the first level common area is Antique River-Recovered® Heart Pine Vertical, Select, and Character. Goodwin's Antique River-Recovered® Heart Pine was used for the stair treads and trim.

A new-construction, year-round vacation home was custom-built for a family to enjoy the natural beauty of West Marin, California. The home is sited on the beach, so understanding how to build on sand (instead of soil) and selecting the right materials that would withstand ongoing erosion from the ocean and salt air were both critical to the success of the project. Even in the most ideal circumstances climate can present challenges, but as this was a COVID-era project in a relatively remote location, we also faced supply chain issues and labor issues. Fortunately, we were able to draw on our decades of experience to identify solutions and work collaboratively with the geotechnical engineer, structural engineer, and subcontractors to ensure that everyone was aligned on the design vision and how we would achieve it. Our backgrounds as craftspeople and the project manager’s experience as an architect allowed our team to work in lockstep with the design team.
