The original house was demolished to make way for a two-story house on the sloping lot, with an accessory dwelling unit below. The upper level of the house, at street level, has three bedrooms, a kitchen and living room. The “great room” opens onto an ocean-view deck through two large pocket doors. The master bedroom can look through the living room to the same view. The owners, acting as their own interior designers, incorporated lots of color with wallpaper accent walls in each bedroom, and brilliant tiles in the bathrooms, kitchen, and at the fireplace.

This 1980's home started out looking more like a cabin in the woods rather than the ocean front beach house it is. It had cedar wood ceilings, walls, wood-look laminate flooring, oak cabinets, and very outdated tile everywhere else. Almost everything was torn out with only the ceiling and some of the walls remaining, which were painted out in white and light gray to open up and brighten the space. Existing walls were smooth plastered to remove the dated heavy texture and the floors were replaced with a very beach friendly and practical wood-print porcelain tile in a herringbone pattern. Everything beach was the inspiration without becoming too kitschy. And the one rule was "no lighthouses", but there are corals, sea shells, coral, and a sail boat for good measure.

VJ cladding was added in the renovation to create a relaxed coastal feeling for holiday-makers. New paint, flooring, lighting and furniture transform the space, creating a perfect holiday retreat.

There’s nothing more refreshing than walking in from a balmy Floridian day, and being hit with the cool coastal interiors of this home. Each space is more beautiful than the next. The mix of whites, sea-foam green and ocean blues all culminate in the stunning open-plan family room kitchen. The organic bamboo, grass cloths, driftwood and large comfy sectional are the perfect backdrop to kick up your feet and chill!

Act 1 Flooring, Inc.
Would you believe us if we told you this is not wood. It's a porcelain tile, so it's durable and waterproof. These planks are 4"x40" and the narrow planks really make it look like hardwood. It comes in a variety of sizes, so you can also install it as a random width pattern too. This plank is from our Casa Classica collection and it's called Over Cream. Call us at Act 1 Flooring for pricing and more information.

The Living Space is all about the view. The windows were framed by the unlined linen drapery panels with tailored valances. The intent was not to obstruct the ocean view during the day. There is the option however of dropping the Motorized natural shades for privacy. The color scheme is light and neutral with accents of blue and green. The custom sectional provides ample comfortable seating for the entire family.
