More storage topped the wish list for this 1950's remodel. Since the homeowners both liked to cook, they need storage for their many small cooking appliances and large collection of spices, coffees and teas. My Clients wanted a home that was durable enough for their kids and pets to run around in, but luxury enough that they could move in full-time after the last of the kids went off to college. The design delicately balances these two often dueling requirements while highlighting the amazing lake view. The Calacatta quartz countertops are stunning mixed with the dark flooring, and that arabesque tile makes such a statement!

The client was excited to purchase a home in the beautiful resort of Sandestin, but was not pleased with the dark interiors, heavy mouldings, tile floors, dated fixtures and heavy feel of the interior of the home. We solved their problems by completely renovating the interiors. Ceilings were raised, floors were replaced, cabinetry and fixtures were replaced and a problem area in the living room was solved. They now have the open, clean, airy beach home of their dreams and I couldn't be more pleased with how this home turned out for them. anthony vallee

Love the beach? You can practically hear the ocean roar in this bright, open and airy coastal kitchen. The custom-made Rochon shaker wood cabinets in teal are the highlight of this space. The center island features a ton of storage as does the custom wall unit. The appliance are stainless steel and the large windows, skylights, and double sliding doors bring natural light to this happy space.

This gorgeous Hamptons Kitchen is a dream kitchen in a blue and white cabinet combination and Caesarstone bench top,. A superb large and wide island bench perfect for everyday meals and entertaining with pendant lights as a focal point and central to both the outdoor entertaining and swimming pool areas. Plenty of drawers throughout the kitchen for heaps of storage and functionality. A good size butlers pantry is separated from the main kitchen by a barn door. The butler's pantry boasts heaps of bench space and storage and an added bonus of a study/office nook as well.

A kitchen designed for someone who loves to cook. The center island accommodates four stools. A large pantry features frosted glass sliding barn doors. Open shelving provides space for colorful accents while generous cabinet space stores everything else neatly out of sight.

One small window, faux woodgrain cabinets and lots of doors made this closed-off Arlington kitchen feel dark and drab, the total opposite of the vibrant young family of four that lives here. To brighten and open up the small kitchen, we removed the wall separating the dining room, expanded the window above the sink and installed a French door to let even more light in from an adjoining sun room. Light now pours into the kitchen, making it feel welcoming, airy and bright. To accommodate the expanded kitchen, we removed a hulking set of built-ins from the dining room which provided two extra feet to work with. The larger footprint allowed us to relocate major appliances and provide a generous amount of storage and prep space including a food safe butcher block to the right of the range. Natural wood elements such as the chopping block, reclaimed shelves and beautiful new floors add character and warmth to the all-white kitchen. One of the must-haves in this renovation was a farmhouse sink which is a great way to maximize function when a smaller sink base is used. We opted to take the tile backsplash all the way to the ceiling along the window wall, creating a more polished look with the added bonus of making the ceiling feel taller. The subway tiles’ subtle texture adds depth to the simple white-on-white motif and the change to a herringbone pattern behind the range adds visual interest without feeling too busy. A crisp white backdrop is perfect for adding pops of color with dishware, accessories and the family’s vintage stand mixer. The newly renovated kitchen-dining area is much better suited for this family’s active lifestyle and the updated design now complements the rest of their stylish home. Photos by Stacy Zarin Goldberg
