A kitchen designed for someone who loves to cook. The center island accommodates four stools. A large pantry features frosted glass sliding barn doors. Open shelving provides space for colorful accents while generous cabinet space stores everything else neatly out of sight.

A beautiful before and after project in Colchester, VT! Our client wanted to create a space that felt light, airy and zen-like with accents that remind her of the water. We were approached by our lovely customers in the heart of Cronulla to design a Coastal inspired Kitchen, Laundry, Ensuite and Main Bathroom. Take a look at the before photos to see how this project has evolved. The transformation is dramatic to say the least. The Kitchen was the area that required the most attention in terms of use of space. The original kitchen felt small and lacked natural light, coupled with the dark cabinetry and lack of workable bench space the kitchen was in serious need of some love. We were able to breath a breathe of fresh air into this space by removing a wall that separated the kitchen and dining room and also by removing the wall adjacent to the stairwell. By making use of the space under the stairs and relocating the water heater we were able to free up some width in the room which allowed us to incorporate an island into the design. This created much needed work space but also improved the flow through the kitchen. With light now flooding in from the patio doors and the addition of timber slatted, feature stairwell divide, the kitchen now feels light, bright and airy. The vertical slats in the stairwell carry on a consistent theme from the main kitchen which showcases vertical VJ groove doors. The complimenting timber elements and honed stone benchtops coupled with the blue shades through the tiles and island joinery tie the space together with multiple layers of colour and texture. The laundry behind the kitchen continues the same theme but is given its own personality through the choice of light timber benchtop and grey/white terrazzo inspired floor tiles, that really capture the beach side feels. Upstairs in the bathrooms a very neutral palette of whites and greys was used to keep the space feeling clean and fresh. Some warmth was brought into the bathroom with the inclusion of timber vanities and some texture through the handmade subway tiles on the feature walls.

This beach home was originally built in 1936. It's a great property, just steps from the sand, but it needed a major overhaul from the foundation to a new copper roof. Inside, we designed and created an open concept living, kitchen and dining area, perfect for hosting or lounging. The result? A home remodel that surpassed the homeowner's dreams. Outside, adding a custom shower and quality materials like Trex decking added function and style to the exterior. And with panoramic views like these, you want to spend as much time outdoors as possible!

This project is the third collaboration between the client and DEANE. They wanted their kitchen renovation to feel updated, fresh and modern, while also customized to their tastes. Frameless white cabinetry with modern, narrow-framed doors and satin nickel hardware contrasts cleanly against the opposing rift-oak wood cabinetry. The counters are a combination of polished white glass with Caesarstone countertops in Airy Concrete quartz providing durable, functional workspaces. The single-slab, White Calacatta Sapien Stone porcelain backsplash provides a dramatic backdrop for the floating shelves with integrated lighting. The owners selected a dual-fuel, 6 burner Wolf 48" range with griddle, and decided to panel the SubZero refrigerator and freezer columns that flank the message center/charging station. The custom, boxed hood adds bold lines, while the full Waterstone faucet suite is a memorable feature. It was important to create areas for entertaining, so the pantry features functional, dark navy lower cabinetry for storage with a counter for secondary appliances. The dining area was elevated by the custom furniture piece with sliding doors and wood-framed glass shelves, allowing the display of decorative pieces, as well as buffet serving. The humidity and temperature-controlled custom wine unit holds enough bottles to host the ultimate dinner party

I love working with clients that have ideas that I have been waiting to bring to life. All of the owner requests were things I had been wanting to try in an Oasis model. The table and seating area in the circle window bump out that normally had a bar spanning the window; the round tub with the rounded tiled wall instead of a typical angled corner shower; an extended loft making a big semi circle window possible that follows the already curved roof. These were all ideas that I just loved and was happy to figure out. I love how different each unit can turn out to fit someones personality. The Oasis model is known for its giant round window and shower bump-out as well as 3 roof sections (one of which is curved). The Oasis is built on an 8x24' trailer. We build these tiny homes on the Big Island of Hawaii and ship them throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

Birchwood Construction had the pleasure of working with Jonathan Lee Architects to revitalize this beautiful waterfront cottage. Located in the historic Belvedere Club community, the home's exterior design pays homage to its original 1800s grand Southern style. To honor the iconic look of this era, Birchwood craftsmen cut and shaped custom rafter tails and an elegant, custom-made, screen door. The home is framed by a wraparound front porch providing incomparable Lake Charlevoix views. The interior is embellished with unique flat matte-finished countertops in the kitchen. The raw look complements and contrasts with the high gloss grey tile backsplash. Custom wood paneling captures the cottage feel throughout the rest of the home. McCaffery Painting and Decorating provided the finishing touches by giving the remodeled rooms a fresh coat of paint. Photo credit: Phoenix Photographic
