Hickory Hill - Cozy Lake Cottage

This cozy lake cottage skillfully incorporates a number of features that would normally be restricted to a larger home design. A glance of the exterior reveals a simple story and a half gable running the length of the home, enveloping the majority of the interior spaces. To the rear, a pair of gables with copper roofing flanks a covered dining area that connects to a screened porch. Inside, a linear foyer reveals a generous staircase with cascading landing. Further back, a centrally placed kitchen is connected to all of the other main level entertaining spaces through expansive cased openings. A private study serves as the perfect buffer between the homes master suite and living room. Despite its small footprint, the master suite manages to incorporate several closets, built-ins, and adjacent master bath complete with a soaker tub flanked by separate enclosures for shower and water closet. Upstairs, a generous double vanity bathroom is shared by a bunkroom, exercise space, and private bedroom. The bunkroom is configured to provide sleeping accommodations for up to 4 people. The rear facing exercise has great views of the rear yard through a set of windows that overlook the copper roof of the screened porch below. トレーニング専用の部屋を確保する余裕がない場合でも、ヨガやピラティス、ストレッチなどのエクササイズであれば、大人が横になり両手、両足を伸ばせるくらいのスペースがあれば十分ホームジムとして活用できます。目安は畳一畳分。トレーニングチューブや2〜3㎏のダンベルを使って筋トレをしたり、フォームローラーやストレッチポールで筋膜をほぐしたりといった運動は小さなスペースでかなり本格的にできます。お気に入りのヨガマットと音楽でモチベーションを高め、人目を気にすることなくのびのびと汗を流せるのも、ホームジムならではの利点です。

ビーチスタイルのホームジムを作るにあたっての注意点

ランニングマシンやトレーニングバイクを使った有酸素運動や、ダンベル、バーベル、ベンチを使った本格的な筋力トレーニングをする場合、まずは床の耐久性を考慮する必要があります。重い器具は部屋の四隅に分散して配置したり、ランバーコア合板やラバーマットを下に敷いたりといった、重量が分散する工夫をすると良いでしょう。また、トレーニング中の掛け声やマシンがぶつかる音がご近所の迷惑になることもありますので、ホームジムの防音、防振対策も忘れないようにしましょう。
