Here’s a solution for tilt-in windows: These shutters showcase an outside mounted frame—mounted on the wall around the window so the windows can tilt in for cleaning.

The client had requested a quiet place in their vacation home to relax, read and recharge. She wanted it to serve as a personal little 'getaway' space but allow her to still feel connected with family and guests. A small loft area that was the 'gateway' between the client's main living area on the second floor and the bedrooms on the third floor was the perfect solution. Painted, beveled wood boards surround the space on all wall and ceiling surfaces. This gives the space texture and interest.

This condo underwent an amazing transformation! The kitchen was moved from one side of the condo to the other so the homeowner could take advantage of the beautiful view. Moving the kitchen from the back corner gave this homeowner the opportunity to add 2 hidden Murphy Wall Beds in the back corner when guests come over. Partitions come out to separate the space when needed. The beams in the ceiling are not only a great architectural detail but they allow for lighting that could not otherwise be added to the condos concrete ceiling. The lovely crown around the room also conceals solar shades and drapery rods.

Birchwood Construction had the pleasure of working with Jonathan Lee Architects to revitalize this beautiful waterfront cottage. Located in the historic Belvedere Club community, the home's exterior design pays homage to its original 1800s grand Southern style. To honor the iconic look of this era, Birchwood craftsmen cut and shaped custom rafter tails and an elegant, custom-made, screen door. The home is framed by a wraparound front porch providing incomparable Lake Charlevoix views. The interior is embellished with unique flat matte-finished countertops in the kitchen. The raw look complements and contrasts with the high gloss grey tile backsplash. Custom wood paneling captures the cottage feel throughout the rest of the home. This beautiful and spacious Margate home, on an oversized lot complete with pool, is large enough for the entire extended family to come and stay. The large inviting covered front porch leads into a spectacular Great Room with a gourmet kitchen. There is a separate entry for the pool area with its own bath. The study/guest room with bath and the laundry room round out the first floor. The second floor wrap around deck offers views of the pool below as well the ocean beyond.
