The island is a dark charcoal with cool undertones that coordinates with the cabinetry and transom work in both the neighboring mudroom and breakfast area. White subway tile, quartz countertops, white enamel pendants and gold fixtures complete the update. The ends of the island are shiplap material that is also used on the fireplace in the next room. In the new mudroom, we used a fun porcelain tile on the floor to get a pop of pattern, and walnut accents add some warmth. Each child has their own cubby, and there is a spot for shoes below a long bench. Open shelving with spots for baskets provides additional storage for the room. 玄関は家族やゲストを迎え入れ、見送る大切なスペース。「家の顔」と言われるとおり、玄関は家全体の印象を決めるだけなく、防犯、断熱、採光、収納など、さまざまな役割を担います。小さいスペースながら、ドア、下駄箱、収納などの設備をはじめ、玄関アプローチ、玄関ポーチ、玄関ホールといった内観から外観に渡る空間まで、玄関リフォームにはたくさんの選択肢があります。ご家庭のライフスタイルやニーズに合わせて、納得のいく玄関周りに仕上げましょう。

ビーチスタイルの玄関ドアをリフォームする

玄関ドアは、玄関スペースの中で最も重要な箇所。予算が限られている場合でも、古くなったドアを塗り替えるだけでグッと印象が変わります。また、リフォーム用にデザインされたドアを活用すれば、工期や費用を抑えつつ、デザイン性、機能性ともに充実した玄関リフォームを実現することが可能です。また、ガラスドアで太陽光を取り入れると、玄関スペースを明るく演出することができます。玄関網戸は、室内の風通しをよくし、エアコンや扇風機の電気代が節約でき、虫よけ、結露対策に効果を発揮します。

玄関の空間を有効利用して収納力アップ！

狭いビーチスタイルの玄関でも空間を工夫して収納力をアップすれば、スペースにゆとりがうまれ、余裕のある豊かな暮らしを実感することができます。レインシューズやブーツなど場所を取る履物は、間仕切りの自由度の高いシューズボックスを選択し上手に収納しましょう。長さや色、デザインが異なる傘も、傘立てにまとめて入れれば、スッキリと整理することができます。また、壁と柱の間のスペースを使って、絵画を飾る棚や照明を設置するスペースを確保すれば、玄関スペースがバッと華やかになります。

玄関の使いやすさと安全性は妥協しない

高齢化社会を迎える日本にとって、住宅のバリアフリー化は重要な課題です。玄関エリアに段差をなくし緩やかなスロープを設置すれば、車椅子でも簡単に、そして安全に出入りすることが可能になります。スロープを設けるスペースがない場合は、階段昇降機で対応することも可能です。手すりは、車椅子に乗る人用とその他の家族用の2種類を設置しましょう。玄関に車椅子用の収納スペースを確保すると、外出準備が一箇所にまとまるので便利です。
