Dark floor tiles laid in a herringbone pattern wrap up the shower wall and into the skylight over the shower. The photo doesn't even show how magnificent this slab of granite countertop is. We were able to install it in one piece without cutting it. The countertop has very fine slight sparkle to it. We wanted to create a more zen like shower but still very eye catching.

AV Architects + Builders Location: Great Falls, VA, United States Our clients were looking to renovate their existing master bedroom into a more luxurious, modern space with an open floor plan and expansive modern bath design. The existing floor plan felt too cramped and didn’t offer much closet space or spa like features. Without having to make changes to the exterior structure, we designed a space customized around their lifestyle and allowed them to feel more relaxed at home. Our modern design features an open-concept master bedroom suite that connects to the master bath for a total of 600 square feet. We included floating modern style vanity cabinets with white Zen quartz, large black format wall tile, and floating hanging mirrors. Located right next to the vanity area is a large, modern style pull-out linen cabinet that provides ample storage, as well as a wooden floating bench that provides storage below the large window. The centerpiece of our modern design is the combined free-standing tub and walk-in, curb less shower area, surrounded by views of the natural landscape. To highlight the modern design interior, we added light white porcelain large format floor tile to complement the floor-to-ceiling dark grey porcelain wall tile to give off a modern appeal. Situated on the west slope of Mt. Baker Ridge, this remodel takes a contemporary view on traditional elements to maximize space, lightness and spectacular views of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound. We were approached by Vertical Construction Group to help a client bring their 1906 craftsman into the 21st century. The original home had many redeeming qualities that were unfortunately compromised by an early 2000’s renovation. This left the new homeowners with awkward and unusable spaces. After studying numerous space plans and roofline modifications, we were able to create quality interior and exterior spaces that reflected our client’s needs and design sensibilities. The resulting master suite, living space, roof deck(s) and re-invented kitchen are great examples of a successful collaboration between homeowner and design and build teams.

Expansive, Chic and Modern are only a few words to describe this luxurious spa-like grand master bathroom retreat that was designed and installed by Stoneunlimited Kitchen and Bath. The moment you enter the room you're welcomed into a light and airy environment that provides warmth at your feet from the Warmly Yours heated flooring. The 4x12 Metal Art Dark tile installed in herringbone pattern is a beautiful contrast to the Elegance Venato tile throughout the space and the white quartz with contrast veining. The expansive shower with zero entry flooring, is an impressive 148" wide x 120" tall and offers ample space for two people to shower and relax.

This master bathroom remodel was a lot of fun. We wanted to switch things up by adding an open shelving divider between the sink and shower. This allows for additional storage in this small space. Storage is key when it comes to a couple using a bathroom space. We flanked a bank of drawers on either side of the floating vanity and doubled up storage by adding a higher end medicine cabinet with ample storage, lighting and plug outlets.

This project involved 2 bathrooms, one in front of the other. Both needed facelifts and more space. We ended up moving the wall to the right out to give the space (see the before photos!) This is the kids' bathroom, so we amped up the graphics and fun with a bold, but classic, floor tile; a blue vanity; mixed finishes; matte black plumbing fixtures; and pops of red and yellow.

This lovely River North remodel features many new and bright things. The floors are Anima Statuario porcelain tile that includes a lovely swirl of black. Blue-green cabinets hide a surprise kitty litter box inside. On top of the cabinets sits under-mount sinks with brass widespread lavatory faucets. The shower features a sit-down bench and lovely in the wall shelf. A handheld showerhead is accompanied by a wall-mounted one as well as a three jet shower system.

But one of the things we pride ourselves on at d2e is being able to capture the look for less. It turns out that parallelogram tile was a little pricey. Our substitution: similarly proportioned black rectangular tiles installed in a herringbone pattern to elevate the look of a budget-friendly material.
