Remodeled condo primary bathroom for clients to truly enjoy like a spa. Theres a freestanding soaker tub, a steam shower with aromatherapy, a floating bench with light for ambient lighting while having a steam. The floating custom vanity has motion sensor lighting and a shelf that can be removed if ever needed for a walker or wheelchair. A pocket door with frosted glass for the water closet. Heated floors. a large mirror with integrated lighting.

Our clients, a couple living in a 200-year-old period house in Hertfordshire, wanted to refurbish their ensuite bathroom with a calm, contemporary spa-style bath and shower room leading from their main bedroom. The room has low vaulted ceilings and original windows so the challenge was to design every aspect to suit the unusual shape. This was particularly important for the shower enclosure, for which the screen had to be made completely bespoke to perfectly fit with the different angles and ceiling heights. To complement the original door, we chose anti-slip porcelain flooring tiles with a timber-look finish which was laid-down above under-floor heating. Pure white was chosen as the only décor colour for the bathroom, with a white bath, white basins, white herringbone shower tiles and a white standalone bespoke vanity, designed and handmade by Simon Taylor Furniture. This features natural polished oak open shelving at the base, which is also used as an accent bath shelf. The brushed satin brass brassware was suggested and sourced by us to provide a stylish contrast and all light fittings are satin brass as well. The standalone vanity features three deep drawers with open shelving beneath and a Miami White worktop within which are two rectangular basins and industrial-style wall taps. Above each basin is a large swivel mirror on an integrated brass mount, a design concept that is both attractive and functional, whilst allowing natural light into the bathroom. Additional shelving was created on either side of the room to conceal plumbing and to showcase all brassware. A wall-hung white WC adds a floating effect and features a flush brass flushing mechanism and a white towel rail adds the finishing touch.

When a husband and wife team of professional botanists wanted to remodel their cramped, 1980s-era bathroom, we naturally looked to the forest for inspiration! With the expert help of Elite Construction Services Inc., we opened up this formerly segmented space (the toilet and washer/dryer were in a separate area from the shower/tub and vanity) to make it feel larger. A controlled, muted color scheme further enlarges the room by connecting all the planes, and serves as a neutral backdrop for a calming spa experience. All the materials speak to my clients’ love of nature. The custom wood vanity with tower and coordinating mirror frame are made so the grain lays in a refreshing horizontal pattern. The porcelain field tile is made to look like limestone with shadows of sediment and fossils. Other elements add to the feeling of a walk in the woods: long-format porcelain tiles of falling leaves cascade down a wall and blend into a stream of river stones that roll across the width of the space. The open, curbless shower with a hidden linear drain invites users for a cleansing respite. Entertaining in a bathroom never looked so good. Probably a thought that never crossed your mind, but a space as unique as this can do just that. The fusion of so many elements: an open concept shower, freestanding tub, washer/dryer organization, toilet room and urinal created an exciting spacial plan. Ultimately, the freestanding tub creates the first vantage point. This breathtaking view creates a calming effect and each angle pivoting off this point exceeds the next. Following the open concept shower, is the washer/dryer and storage closets which double as decor, incorporating mirror into their doors. The double vanity stands in front of a textured wood plank tile laid horizontally establishing a modern backdrop. Lastly, a rustic barn door separates a toilet and a urinal, an uncharacteristic residential choice that pairs well with beer, wings, and hockey.
