This stunning master bathroom started with a creative reconfiguration of space, but it’s the wall of shimmering blue dimensional tile that really makes this a “statement” bathroom. The homeowners’, parents of two boys, wanted to add a master bedroom and bath onto the main floor of their classic mid-century home. Their objective was to be close to their kids’ rooms, but still have a quiet and private retreat. To obtain space for the master suite, the construction was designed to add onto the rear of their home. This was done by expanding the interior footprint into their existing outside corner covered patio. To create a sizeable suite, we also utilized the current interior footprint of their existing laundry room, adjacent to the patio. The design also required rebuilding the exterior walls of the kitchen nook which was adjacent to the back porch. Our clients rounded out the updated rear home design by installing all new windows along the back wall of their living and dining rooms. Once the structure was formed, our design team worked with the homeowners to fill in the space with luxurious elements to form their desired retreat with universal design in mind. The selections were intentional, mixing modern-day comfort and amenities with 1955 architecture. The shower was planned to be accessible and easy to use at the couple ages in place. Features include a curb-less, walk-in shower with a wide shower door. We also installed two shower fixtures, a handheld unit and showerhead. To brighten the room without sacrificing privacy, a clearstory window was installed high in the shower and the room is topped off with a skylight. For ultimate comfort, heated floors were installed below the silvery gray wood-plank floor tiles which run throughout the entire room and into the shower! Additional features include custom cabinetry in rich walnut with horizontal grain and white quartz countertops. In the shower, oversized white subway tiles surround a mermaid-like soft-blue tile niche, and at the vanity the mirrors are surrounded by boomerang-shaped ultra-glossy marine blue tiles. These create a dramatic focal point. Serene and spectacular.

What was once a dark, unwelcoming alcove is now a bright, luxurious haven. The over-sized soaker fills this extra large space and is complimented with 3 x 12 subway tiles. The contrasting grout color speaks to the black fixtures and accents throughout the room. We love the custom-sized niches that perfectly hold the client's "jellies and jams."

Victorian Style Bathroom in Horsham, West Sussex In the peaceful village of Warnham, West Sussex, bathroom designer George Harvey has created a fantastic Victorian style bathroom space, playing homage to this characterful house. Making the most of present-day, Victorian Style bathroom furnishings was the brief for this project, with this client opting to maintain the theme of the house throughout this bathroom space. The design of this project is minimal with white and black used throughout to build on this theme, with present day technologies and innovation used to give the client a well-functioning bathroom space. To create this space designer George has used bathroom suppliers Burlington and Crosswater, with traditional options from each utilised to bring the classic black and white contrast desired by the client. In an additional modern twist, a HiB illuminating mirror has been included – incorporating a present-day innovation into this timeless bathroom space. Bathroom Accessories One of the key design elements of this project is the contrast between black and white and balancing this delicately throughout the bathroom space. With the client not opting for any bathroom furniture space, George has done well to incorporate traditional Victorian accessories across the room. Repositioned and refitted by our installation team, this client has re-used their own bath for this space as it not only suits this space to a tee but fits perfectly as a focal centrepiece to this bathroom. A generously sized Crosswater Clear6 shower enclosure has been fitted in the corner of this bathroom, with a sliding door mechanism used for access and Crosswater’s Matt Black frame option utilised in a contemporary Victorian twist. Distinctive Burlington ceramics have been used in the form of pedestal sink and close coupled W/C, bringing a traditional element to these essential bathroom pieces. Bathroom Features Traditional Burlington Brassware features everywhere in this bathroom, either in the form of the Walnut finished Kensington range or Chrome and Black Trent brassware. Walnut pillar taps, bath filler and handset bring warmth to the space with Chrome and Black shower valve and handset contributing to the Victorian feel of this space. Above the basin area sits a modern HiB Solstice mirror with integrated demisting technology, ambient lighting and customisable illumination. This HiB mirror also nicely balances a modern inclusion with the traditional space through the selection of a Matt Black finish. Along with the bathroom fitting, plumbing and electrics, our installation team also undertook a full tiling of this bathroom space. Gloss White wall tiles have been used as a base for Victorian features while the floor makes decorative use of Black and White Petal patterned tiling with an in keeping black border tile. As part of the installation our team have also concealed all pipework for a minimal feel. This 2 story home was originally built in 1952 on a tree covered hillside. Our company transformed this little shack into a luxurious home with a million dollar view by adding high ceilings, wall of glass facing the south providing natural light all year round, and designing an open living concept. The home has a built-in gas fireplace with tile surround, custom IKEA kitchen with quartz countertop, bamboo hardwood flooring, two story cedar deck with cable railing, master suite with walk-through closet, two laundry rooms, 2.5 bathrooms, office space, and mechanical room.
