A new tub was installed with a tall but thin-framed sliding glass door—a thoughtful design to accommodate taller family and guests. The shower walls were finished in a Porcelain marble-looking tile to match the vanity and floor tile, a beautiful deep blue that also grounds the space and pulls everything together. All-in-all, Gayler Design Build took a small cramped bathroom and made it feel spacious and airy, even without a window!

This project involved 2 bathrooms, one in front of the other. Both needed facelifts and more space. We ended up moving the wall to the right out to give the space (see the before photos!) This is the kids' bathroom, so we amped up the graphics and fun with a bold, but classic, floor tile; a blue vanity; mixed finishes; matte black plumbing fixtures; and pops of red and yellow.

The bold colour choice create a relaxing space with a unique style and elegance that is both classic and contemporary. Shimmering blue glass mosaic is the main feature of the room paired with the contrasting large grey porcelain tile made to look like natural stone. A custom designed vanity by MAJ Interiors utilizes every available inch for storage including above the toilet. Introducing elements such as a towel bar on the glass door is another clever introduction of functionality within a small bathroom space. Carrying the countertop below the storage above the toilet and behind the mirror connects all the separate elements creating one whole unit. A textured black floor relates to the texture of the glass mosaic tile along the top perimeter of the room, creating a rich layering of beautifully chosen materials within this scheme of uncluttered simplicity.

This client wanted a bathroom that would feel like an escape to her favorite coastal oasis. She supplied the mirror which we used for inspiration along with her artwork of coastal scenery and shells. We started with clean white subway tile with accents of sea glass. The blue custom made vanity hue came from the sea glass tile and we installed a white quartz top for simplicity. We used rustic whitewashed wood for the walls in a slightly creamier hue so the bathroom didn't come across as sterile and seemed a bit aged over time. The flooring material has hints of gray and colors from both the wood and subway tile to pull it all together. You do feel as though you just stepped into a beach cottage! Sophisticated Carrara marble bathroom. Kohler's Memoirs collection was used for all the faucets and fixtures. The new Choreograph grab bar looks like a barre and also doubles as a soap/shampoo rail. Carrara marble 6" x 12" tiles on the wall, 3" x 12" herringbone pattern on the floor and a single slab on the vanity. Sea salt oval cast iron sink.

Mosaic shale master bathroom is compact but has a large walk-in shower with a shower bench and beautiful opalescent tile that lines the walls. The mosaic tile on the vanity wall brings out a little more shine and compliments the chrome fixtures.

In this project, navy blue painted cabinetry helped to create a modern farmhouse-inspired hall kids bathroom. First, we designed a single vanity, painted with Navy Blue to allow the color to shine in this small bathroom. Next on the opposing walls, we painted a light gray to add subtle interest between the trim and walls. We additionally crafted a complimenting linen closet space with custom cut-outs and a wallpapered back. The finishing touch is the custom hand painted flooring, which mimics a modern black and white tile, which adds a clean, modern farmhouse touch to the room.

浴室リフォームのデザイン、レイアウト、費用

浴室リフォームの技法には大きく分けて「在来工法」と「ユニットバス (システムバス)」の2通りがあります。

在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、浴室の大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

浴室にプラスアルファでお風呂タイムをもっと楽しく

介護が必要な方には、浴室に浴槽手すりやシャワーチェア、すべり止めマットなどの安全グッズを使って、癒やしの時間を安全にゆっくりと楽しんでもらいましょう。浴室に床暖房を取り入れると、冬場のあのヒンヤリ感がなくなり、ヒートショックの防止に効果が期待できます。大粒のお湯が頭上から降り注ぐように全身を包み込むレインシャワー水栓は、効率的に身体を温めてくれます。また最近では、浴室テレビを装備して、あたたかいお湯に浸かりながらテレビ番組や映画を楽しむ方も増えています。ライフスタイルにあわせて、浴室をカスタマイズしてみてはいかがでしょうか？

ラクラク片付け、快適な浴室！

シャンプーやコンディショナーのボトルや、浴槽洗いのブラシは、ワイヤーラック、つっぱりコーナーラック、吸盤シェルフなど壁面収納グッズを活用して、浴室の使いやすい場所に設置しましょう。ボディスポンジなど、肌に触れるものはお掃除グッズから離れた場所に置き、しっかり水切りができるよう吸盤フックなどにかけるといいでしょう。また、浴室内には必要なアイテムだけをセレクトして置き、余分なモノは浴室外の脱衣所の棚に保管するなどの工夫も、お風呂場を清潔に保つコツです。風呂ふたも、フックやスタンド等を使って収納し、しっかり乾燥させれば、カビやぬめりの発生を防ぐことができます。

ホテルのようなバスルームをつくるコツ

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
