The East louisville Master Bath Remodel was in a patio home in the White Blossom Neighborhood. The hall bath was turned into a half bath and we converted the tub space into the master bath shower . This allowed for more floor space for aging in place as well as the opportunity for his and hers vanities.

The Homeowner have been updating their home over the years, and decided it was time to have their master bathroom remodeled. They wanted something that would be timeless and that they could enjoy. Being in the trade business himself, Mr. was very capable of completing some of the work himself. We worked together to give the Homeowner the master bathroom that met their vision. We enlarged the shower, creating space to have a bench comfortably, provided more storage with cabinetry, and removed their drop-in tub for an elegant free-standing tub. In the shower, the unique feature here was the pebble flooring and waterfall accent tile along the backside wall. The space came together, brightening up the bathroom and making it a place where they can enjoy!

The room features a herringbone pattern with a wood plank porcelain tile. The shower is accented with a smaller scale herringbone deco tile.

We installed tile wainscoting to keep with the traditional Arts & Crafts architecture of the home, and added white glass pendant lights and custom curved mirrors for a balance of contemporary and traditional. Enlarged windows, deep tub, and pale colors instill this calm sanctuary with natural light. Statuary marble floors and handmade ceramic tiles keep the design timeless while enriching every moment spent in the bathroom.

In this bathroom reno in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, highly functional vanity cabinets were already doing a great job of meeting the homeowner’s storage needs. It’s just that they were a dated dark brown wood color and a bit scuffed up. These cabinets, coupled with frosted closet doors on the opposite wall, made for a luxe washing and dressing area in the homeowner’s en suite bathroom. So why spend money and create waste replacing these elements when we can refresh them? A charcoal paint and new chrome hardware on the cabinets and a fresh white wall paint in the room makes the existing surfaces look good as new. Then, to truly update and brighten the space, we specified new sinks and faucets and bright white picket-shaped tile to be installed up to the ceiling. The quartz countertop has a stunning black vein running across the white surface and special care was taken to template this top so that the most striking part of the veining would be visible between the sinks on this double vanity. A header above the mirror that hid a fluorescent light tube was demolished to allow the ceiling to soar and we instead installed stylish linear vanity lights and a large black framed mirror. David Bowie vintage poster is reflected in mirror.

Master Bathroom Flooring is a 12x24 Carrara marble-style porcelain tile installed in a diagonal pattern. The shower floor was adorned in a glass round penny tile. To create a that extra glam and sparkle, we used a pre-mixed translucent specialty grout with an iridescent finish which reflects and refracts light. The original color of the penny tile is a dusk gray; however, since the penny tile is glass, if you look closely, you will see because of the iridescent grout, the tile appears to be a myriad of colors including violet, green, blue, and gray.

В душевой кабине, учитывая отсутствие ванной, мы постарались создать максимальный комфорт: встроенная акустика, гидромассажные форсунки и сиденье для отдыха. Молдинги на стенах кажутся такими же, как и в комнатах - но здесь они изготовлены из акрилового камня.

浴室リフォームのデザイン、レイアウト、費用

浴室リフォームの技法には大きく分けて「在来工法」と「ユニットバス (システムバス)」の2通りがあります。

在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、浴室の大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

浴室にプラスアルファでお風呂タイムをもっと楽しく

介護が必要な方には、浴室に浴槽手すりやシャワーチェア、すべり止めマットなどの安全グッズを使って、癒やしの時間を安全にゆっくりと楽しんでもらいましょう。浴室に床暖房を取り入れると、冬場のあのヒンヤリ感がなくなり、ヒートショックの防止に効果が期待できます。大粒のお湯が頭上から降り注ぐように全身を包み込むレインシャワー水栓は、効率的に身体を温めてくれます。また最近では、浴室テレビを装備して、あたたかいお湯に浸かりながらテレビ番組や映画を楽しむ方も増えています。ライフスタイルにあわせて、浴室をカスタマイズしてみてはいかがでしょうか？

ラクラク片付け、快適な浴室！

シャンプーやコンディショナーのボトルや、浴槽洗いのブラシは、ワイヤーラック、つっぱりコーナーラック、吸盤シェルフなど壁面収納グッズを活用して、浴室の使いやすい場所に設置しましょう。ボディスポンジなど、肌に触れるものはお掃除グッズから離れた場所に置き、しっかり水切りができるよう吸盤フックなどにかけるといいでしょう。また、浴室内には必要なアイテムだけをセレクトして置き、余分なモノは浴室外の脱衣所の棚に保管するなどの工夫も、お風呂場を清潔に保つコツです。風呂ふたも、フックやスタンド等を使って収納し、しっかり乾燥させれば、カビやぬめりの発生を防ぐことができます。

ホテルのようなバスルームをつくるコツ

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
