Expansive Primary Suite Bathroom

Who wouldn't love to enjoy a "wine down" in this gorgeous primary bath? We gutted everything in this space, but kept the tub area. We updated the tub area with a quartz surround to modernize, installed a gorgeous water jet mosaic all over the floor and added a dark shiplap to tie in the custom vanity cabinets and barn doors. The separate double shower feels like a room in its own with gorgeous tile inset shampoo shelf and updated plumbing fixtures.

Our Long Island studio designed this stunning home with bright neutrals and classic pops to create a warm, welcoming home with modern amenities. In the kitchen, we chose a blue and white theme and added leather high chairs to give it a classy appeal. Sleek pendants add a hint of elegance. In the dining room, comfortable chairs with chequered upholstery create a statement. We added a touch of drama by painting the ceiling a deep aubergine. AJI also added a sitting space with a comfortable couch and chairs to bridge the kitchen and the main living space. The family room was designed to create maximum space for get-togethers with a comfy sectional and stylish swivel chairs. The unique wall decor creates interesting pops of color. In the master suite upstairs, we added walk-in closets and a twelve-foot-long window seat. Hierdurch ist die Gesamtwirkung aufgelockert. Auch die Abstellflächen am Waschbecken nehmen diese Tönung auf, hier jedoch in natürlichem Holzlook. Neben dem Lichteinfall durch das geräumige Fenster bei Tageslicht sind an der Decke eingelassene LED-Strahler in allen Bereichen für ausreichende Helligkeit eingesetzt.

The existing vanity was replaced with a custom dual floating vanity from Dura Supreme Cabinetry, finished in Maple Shell Gray. The vanity is topped with a gorgeous Torquay Cambria quartz countertop and accented with Top Knobs black hardware. Two Helios rectangular frameless mirrors with integrated LED lighting and a Kohler recessed medicine cabinet complete this stunning contemporary bathroom remodel.

A Dramatic Bathroom in Grays & Chrome

Amazing Spaces

Combining an everyday hallway bathroom with the main guest bath/powder room is not an easy task. The hallway bath needs to have a lot of utility with durable materials and functional storage. It also wants to be a bit “dressy” to make house guests feel special. This bathroom needed to do both. We first addressed its utility with bathroom necessities including the tub/shower. The recessed medicine cabinet in combination with an elongated vanity tackles all the storage needs including a concealed waste bin. Thoughtfully placed towel hooks are mostly out of sight behind the door while the half-wall hides the paper holder and a niche for other toilet necessities. It’s the materials that elevate this bathroom to powder room status. The tri-color marble penny tile sets the scene for the color palette. Carved black marble wall tile adds the necessary drama flowing along two walls. The remaining two walls of tile keep the room durable while softening the effects of the black walls and vanity. Rounded elements such as the light fixtures and the apron sink punctuate and carry the theme of the floor tile throughout the bathroom. Polished chrome fixtures along with the beefy frameless glass shower enclosure add just enough sparkle and contrast.

This beautiful home got a stunning makeover from our Oakland studio. We pulled colors from the client's beautiful heirloom quilt, which we used as an inspiration point to plan the design scheme. The bedroom got a calm and soothing appeal with a muted teal color. The adjoining bathroom was redesigned to accommodate a dual vanity, a free-standing tub, and a steam shower, all held together neatly by the river rock flooring. The living room used a different shade of teal with gold accents to create a lively, cheerful ambiance. The kitchen layout was maximized with a large island with a stunning cascading countertop. Completed look of the shower valve wall. The shower valve and diverter were moved closer to the entry of the shower for easier accessibility. A new shower niche was installed to provide storage for shampoo and soap. The shower seat top is the same material as the countertops and was installed with a bullnose edge for comfort.

浴室リフォームのデザイン、レイアウト、費用

浴室リフォームの技法には大きく分けて「在来工法」と「ユニットバス (システムバス)」の2通りがあります。

在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、浴室の大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

浴室にプラスアルファでお風呂タイムをもっと楽しく

介護が必要な方には、浴室に浴槽手すりやシャワーチェア、すべり止めマットなどの安全グッズを使って、癒やしの時間を安全にゆっくりと楽しんでもらいましょう。浴室に床暖房を取り入れると、冬場のあのヒンヤリ感がなくなり、ヒートショックの防止に効果が期待できます。大粒のお湯が頭上から降り注ぐように全身を包み込むレインシャワー水栓は、効率的に身体を温めてくれます。また最近では、浴室テレビを装備して、あたたかいお湯に浸かりながらテレビ番組や映画を楽しむ方も増えています。ライフスタイルにあわせて、浴室をカスタマイズしてみてはいかがでしょうか？

ラクラク片付け、快適な浴室！

シャンプーやコンディショナーのボトルや、浴槽洗いのブラシは、ワイヤーラック、つっぱりコーナーラック、吸盤シェルフなど壁面収納グッズを活用して、浴室の使いやすい場所に設置しましょう。ボディスポンジなど、肌に触れるものはお掃除グッズから離れた場所に置き、しっかり水切りができるよう吸盤フックなどにかけるといいでしょう。また、浴室内には必要なアイテムだけをセレクトして置き、余分なモノは浴室外の脱衣所の棚に保管するなどの工夫も、お風呂場を清潔に保つコツです。風呂ふたも、フックやスタンド等を使って収納し、しっかり乾燥させれば、カビやぬめりの発生を防ぐことができます。

ホテルのようなバスルームをつくるコツ

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
