We kept it simple by the tub for a truly Japandi spa-like escape. The Brizo Jason Wu tub filler adds some contrast but otherwise the tile wall is the artwork here.

We transformed a Georgian brick two-story built in 1998 into an elegant, yet comfortable home for an active family that includes children and dogs. Although this Dallas home’s traditional bones were intact, the interior dark stained molding, paint, and distressed cabinetry, along with dated bathrooms and kitchen were in desperate need of an overhaul. We honored the client’s European background by using time-tested marble mosaics, slabs and countertops, and vintage style plumbing fixtures throughout the kitchen and bathrooms. We balanced these traditional elements with metallic and unique patterned wallpapers, transitional light fixtures and clean-lined furniture frames to give the home excitement while maintaining a graceful and inviting presence. We used nickel lighting and plumbing finishes throughout the home to give regal punctuation to each room. The intentional, detailed styling in this home is evident in that each room boasts its own character while remaining cohesive overall.

For the master bathroom, we wanted it to feel luxurious, which I believe we achieved with the oversized honey bronze hardware and luxe gold plumbing fixtures by Brizo along with the three vanity wall sconces in the same finish. Adding to the luxurious feel in this bathroom was the tall custom beveled mirrored medicine cabinets which brings your eye up the statement marble chevron wall which we also repeated inside the medicine cabinets and down the center of the shower acting as an accent. This young married couple enlisted our help to update their recently purchased condo into a brighter, open space that reflected their taste. They traveled to Copenhagen at the onset of their trip, and that trip largely influenced the design direction of their home, from the herringbone floors to the Copenhagen-based kitchen cabinetry. We blended their love of European interiors with their Asian heritage and created a soft, minimalist, cozy interior with an emphasis on clean lines and muted palettes.

Taking the elements of the traditional 1929 bathroom as a spring board, this bathroom’s design asserts that modern interiors can live beautifully within a conventional backdrop. While paying homage to the work-a-day bathroom, the finished room successfully combines modern sophistication and whimsy. The familiar black and white tile clad bathroom was re-envisioned utilizing a custom mosaic tile, updated fixtures and fittings, an unexpected color palette, state of the art light fixtures and bold modern art. The original dressing area closets, given a face lift with new finish and hardware, were the inspiration for the new custom vanity - modern in concept, but incorporating the grid detail found in the original casework.

The boldness of the design is evident in the choice of Blue Naval cabinets adorned with exquisite Brushed Gold hardware, embodying a luxurious yet robust aesthetic. Highlighting the shower area, the Newbev Triangles Dusk tile graces the walls, imparting modern elegance. This moody bathroom features a black paneled wall with a minimal white oak shaker vanity. Its simplicity is offset with the patterned marble mosaic floors. We removed the bathtub and added a classic, white subway tile with a niche and glass door. The brass hardware adds contrast and rattan is incorporated for warmth.
