Urban Elegance Revived: Three-Story Townhome Transformation in Urbana, MD

This transformative project, tailored to the desires of a distinguished homeowner, included the meticulous rejuvenation of three full bathrooms and one-half bathroom, with a special nod to the homeowner's preference for copper accents. The main bathroom underwent a lavish spa renovation, featuring marble floors, a curbless shower, and a freestanding soaking tub—a true sanctuary. The entire kitchen was revitalized, with existing cabinets repurposed, painted, and transformed into soft-close cabinets. Consistency reigned supreme as fixtures in the kitchen, all bathrooms, and doors were thoughtfully updated. The entire home received a fresh coat of paint, and shadow boxes added to the formal dining room brought a touch of architectural distinction. Exterior enhancements included railing replacements and a resurfaced deck, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living. We replaced carpeting and introduced plantation shutters in key areas, enhancing both comfort and sophistication. Notably, structural repairs to the stairs were expertly handled, rendering them virtually unnoticeable. A project that marries modern functionality with timeless style, this townhome now stands as a testament to the art of transformative living.

Hockessin Delaware Bathroom remodel. The clients original Master bathroom was outdated in style and function. We started by removing a soaking tub sunken into the floor; that was the first thing to go. With the tub gone and relocating the toilet; we redesigned the bath with a larger shower and double vanity. The toilet is now hidden by a half wall with shelving storage on the toilet side, capped with granite and a sleek piece of textured glass. The new 6’ long x 4’ wide shower was tiled cleanly with a mosaic look on the shower head wall, built in niche, bench and grab bar. The new vanity designed in Fabuwood cabinetry in the Galaxy Horizon finish added great storage and plenty of countertop space. Now this bathroom fits the client’s needs and matches there style.

The hall bath was rejuvenated, with the existing vanity remining the old doors were replaced with a modern Sierra style painted in stunning Raven Black. This bath was adorned with brass and matte black light fixtures, matching black hardware and sink faucets to bring it all together. Cascading alabaster grey mosaic tiles gleam on the vanity wall, creating a perfect back drop for oval shaped mirrors with jet black trim. An inviting walk-in shower has been given the ultimate face lift, descending matte white tiles grace the surrounding walls, gorgeous hexagon mosaics create an element of texture and depth against the brilliant white walls. This extensive, five bedroom family home in a stunning cliff-top location overlooking Porth beach, Newquay, has three mono-pitched slate roof elements designed to break up the roofline and reduce the mass, giving the appearance of smaller structures. The house as been designed to respond to its beach side location and maximise panoramic ocean vistas. Internally, a grand spiral staircase sweeps down to the main, sea-facing, reception areas, which open onto a large terrace that blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. 浴室リフォームの技法には大きく分けて「在来工法」と「ユニットバス (システムバス)」の2通りがあります。

在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、浴室の大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
