This master bathroom cabinetry was updated. The sink section was "built up" so that it met today's height standards, new granite, sinks, backsplash, and plumbing fixtures were done. The make-up desk was kept at the lower setting to allow for a desk type feel. Cabinets were not changed.

Ornate Downingtown, PA Master Bath remodel. Our design team moved and redesigned everything! Classic Cherry Cabinetry by Echelon in the Langdon door with mocha finish was chosen for the generous, new double vanity and tub skirt. Storage is not an issue with this vanity design. A large neo angle shower and attached tub deck with tiled walls and granite capped surfaces looks stunning. Using a clear frameless glass shower surround always lets in alot of natural light into the shower. The new shower half walls still give it a private feel. Natural toned tile with subtle accents adds to the classic styling.

To maintain matrimonial harmony, it was time to transform the primary bathroom into a room built for two with two sinks being at the top of the needs list (the original sink and dinky mirror were located between the two exterior windows). Finishes throughout were also ready for an update. The bathroom was gutted which provided an opportunity to open up the cave like shower and install the much-desired dual sinks and bidet toilet. The challenge was how to place mirrors and lighting for each sink which were centered on the exterior windows. The exterior wall framing, and the windows prohibited the placement of both a light fixture and a mirror above the sink(s). To remedy this issue, the casing on either side of the window was removed and wiring for lights was installed. The casing was bored to allow the wiring to run through to the surface mounted Twiggy LED lights (by Edge Lighting) which are hinged to allow the user to move the lights in for full illumination of the face. The mirrors, in frames to match the cabinetry, where then mounted on a barn door track installed above the window frame. The mirrors not only clear the Twiggy lights but can be moved to the left of their original location to allow the natural light from the windows to pour through. To round out the new design, more and better organized storage and a rear grooming mirror were incorporated in this small, narrow bathroom.

The client had a shower space without a visual showing of damage until you looked at the ceiling in the kitchen. The project was exploratory after all other measures failed to find the leak. This homeowner was due for a primary bathroom remodel, and we were thrilled to help! The layout remained unchanged as it was practically laid out. We focused on adding vanity storage by adding a tall linen cabinet to the left of the sink. The floating style vanity adds an airiness to the space while still offering tons of storage. The dark stained cabinetry grounds the room in a warm, natural element. The light quartz countertops contain a hint of blue, which ties in beautifully with the pop of color from the shower floor tile. The shower wall tiles remain neutral, while a three-dimensional tile was used on the long wall to add visual interest and accentuate the vaulted ceiling. Simple, elegant plumbing fixtures finish off the space with delicate curves. The end result is a contemporary space, perfectly balanced by light and dark elements, with just the right amount of color.

浴室リフォームのデザイン、レイアウト、費用

浴室リフォームの技法には大きく分けて「在来工法」と「ユニットバス (システムバス)」の2通りがあります。
  • 在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、浴室の大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
  • ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

浴室にプラスアルファでお風呂タイムをもっと楽しく

介護が必要な方には、浴室に浴槽手すりやシャワーチェア、すべり止めマットなどの安全グッズを使って、癒やしの時間を安全にゆっくりと楽しんでもらいましょう。浴室に床暖房を取り入れると、冬場のあのヒンヤリ感がなくなり、ヒートショックの防止に効果が期待できます。大粒のお湯が頭上から降り注ぐように全身を包み込むレインシャワー水栓は、効率的に身体を温めてくれます。また最近では、浴室テレビを装備して、あたたかいお湯に浸かりながらテレビ番組や映画を楽しむ方も増えています。ライフスタイルにあわせて、浴室をカスタマイズしてみてはいかがでしょうか？

ラクラク片付け、快適な浴室！

シャンプーやコンディショナーのボトルや、浴槽洗いのブラシは、ワイヤーラック、つっぱりコーナーラック、吸盤シェルフなど壁面収納グッズを活用して、浴室の使いやすい場所に設置しましょう。ボディスポンジなど、肌に触れるものはお掃除グッズから離れた場所に置き、しっかり水切りができるよう吸盤フックなどにかけるといいでしょう。また、浴室内には必要なアイテムだけをセレクトして置き、余分なモノは浴室外の脱衣所の棚に保管するなどの工夫も、お風呂場を清潔に保つコツです。風呂ふたも、フックやスタンド等を使って収納し、しっかり乾燥させれば、カビやぬめりの発生を防ぐことができます。

ホテルのようなバスルームをつくるコツ

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。 ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
