Overhead, clerestory windows ensure privacy while allowing in natural light. Positioned near the base of iconic Camelback Mountain, “Outside In” is a modernist home celebrating the love of outdoor living Arizonans crave. The design inspiration was honoring early territorial architecture while applying modernist design principles. Dressed with undulating negra cantera stone, the massing elements of “Outside In” bring an artistic stature to the project’s design hierarchy. This home boasts a first (never seen before feature) — a re-entrant pocketing door which unveils virtually the entire home’s living space to the exterior pool and view terrace. A timeless chocolate and white palette makes this home both elegant and refined. A rickety 1960s beach shack occupied this sandy site close to Diamond Bay on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. The sophisticated and well-travelled owners sought to retain its relaxed midcentury holiday house feel whilst extending and renovating both levels to a more appropriate level of comfort and elegance for them.

Renovation of a master bath suite, dressing room and laundry room in a log cabin farm house. Project involved expanding the space to almost three times the original square footage, which resulted in the attractive exterior rock wall becoming a feature interior wall in the bathroom, accenting the stunning copper soaking bathtub. A two tone brick floor in a herringbone pattern compliments the variations of color on the interior rock and log walls. A large picture window near the copper bathtub allows for an unrestricted view to the farmland. The walk in shower walls are porcelain tiles and the floor and seat in the shower are finished with tumbled glass mosaic penny tile. His and hers vanities feature soapstone counters and open shelving for storage. Concrete framed mirrors are set above each vanity and the hand blown glass and concrete pendants compliment one another. This pictures the wainscoting from wall-to-wall, wrap around tile on the pony wall which we also made a plumbing wall to avoid a floor standing tub filler. Freestanding tub and it's huge!

Shower valves were relocated to the entrance of the shower, one controls the rain head and the other the wall mounted head. Recessed niche provides ease of access to products, as well as the floating marble bench. The shower floor 1/2" mosaic is the same hexagon as the main floor. 1/2" clear glass wall is impressive without over powering the space.

The neutral colours and floor to ceiling tiles elevate the sense of space. The brushed gun metal tapware contrasts well against the tiles. Curves are repeated in the mirror, shower screen and gooseneck shower head. Shutters on the window add privacy and fits with the beach location of the unit. This room also doubles as the laundry, housing the washing machine and dryer.
