The master bathroom wet area has several unique features. To make the area sleek and ADA compliant, the old step-down shower was filled to floor level. The shower floor has 1/8" slope and the drain was re-located from the center to the back wall. The rain shower head casts a small splash zone meaning no glass needed to be used.

FIRST PLACE 2018 ASID DESIGN OVATION AWARD / MASTER BATH OVER $50,000. In addition to a much-needed update, the clients desired a spa-like environment for their Master Bath. Sea Pearl Quartzite slabs were used on an entire wall and around the vanity and served as this ethereal palette inspiration. Contemporary Master ensuite designed for a new build. The client requested a space which was extremely luxurious and held an atmosphere similar to a spa or hotel. We met this brief by choosing high-end finishes such as brass for the shower and taps which combined beautifully with the rich terrazzo and contemporary marble wall tiles. The spacious shower, freestanding bath and bespoke vanity unit with countertop sink add another level of luxury to the space.

The original house was demolished to make way for a two-story house on the sloping lot, with an accessory dwelling unit below. The upper level of the house, at street level, has three bedrooms, a kitchen and living room. The “great room” opens onto an ocean-view deck through two large pocket doors. The master bedroom can look through the living room to the same view. The owners, acting as their own interior designers, incorporated lots of color with wallpaper accent walls in each bedroom, and brilliant tiles in the bathrooms, kitchen, and at the fireplace tiles in the bathrooms, kitchen, and at the fireplace.
