When the house was purchased, someone had lowered the ceiling with gyp board. We re-designed it with a coffer that looked original to the house. The antique stand for the vessel sink was sourced from an antique store in Berkeley CA. The flooring was replaced with traditional 1" hex tile.

The powder room has a beautiful sculptural mirror that complements the mercury glass hanging pendant lights. The chevron tiled backsplash adds visual interest while creating a focal wall.

This powder room design plays off the historic washbasin aesthetic with a modernized twist. The washbasin is a custom created pottery bowl sink with an artistic glaze, playing off the colors of the slate flooring. The vanity is a designed furniture-look piece with a burgundy stain on cherry, in a modernized version of the farmhouse table and washbasin style.

This project won in the 2013 Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh Housing Excellence Award for Best Urban Renewal Renovation Project. The glass bowl was made in the glass studio owned by the owner which is adjacent to the residence. The mirror is a repurposed window. The door is repurposed from a boarding house. George Mendel

This Powder room was created from an inspiring old -world piece of furniture found by the Homeowner while traveling to Mexico. It’s a hand carved, well- worn authentic chest. A frosted glass panel to separate the commode from the vanity. The walls feature a soft blue-green paint which warms the space and allows the furniture and accessories to pop.

Asian powder room with Hakatai mosaic glass tile wall as backdrop, Asian vanity with Koi vessel sink, modern faucet in bamboo shape, Asian wall sconces and dramatic golden mirror. Floor is polished concrete.

A keen understanding of the significance of background and foreground, proportion and rhythm were considered. The materiality of the design created a unique balance between rustic and contemporary.

A Philadelphia suburban Main Line bi-level condo is home to a contemporary collection of art and furnishings. The light filled neutral space is warm and inviting and serves as a backdrop to showcase this couple’s growing art collection. Great use of color for accents, custom furniture and an eclectic mix of furnishings add interest and texture to the space. Nestled in the trees, this suburban home feels like it’s in the country while just a short distance to the city.
