Living room
the scale of the room and built in boocase neither of which we have, but i also like the way the rugs are the grounding of the furniture to create two spaces and the fact that the furniture is not focussed on a TV, although we prob don't have enough width to have seats opposite?, i like the darkish blue contrast with the white and warm stone and i like the dark lamps and contrast with white lampshade, that repetition of contrast is beautiful and similar with cushions, we could try to repeat this. could we have stone around the fireplace? when i've seen it it looks naff and i think it will be too expensive and take up too much space unless we rip out the brick which i'm reluctant to do and it is a v american thing. if we found a way of real stone veneer.... also nice use of ornaments and paintings, table with plant, curtains to the side, could consider stools but they are not that user friendly. what we could do is have reed dining chairs for the sun room drop leaf dining table stored in the living room if they didn't make the living room look too small and the sun room would look less cluttered, or ercol / g plan etc with cushions so less like a dining chair
the tone of the wooden floor and the oak cupboards and warm wall paint, though the oak is prob less MCM. simple black hearth
