The remodel of our Sun City house into our dream home is now done. Throughout the entire three years of remodeling (we signed the contract for Phase 1 in November 2019), Yourson helped us strategize, problem-solve, and get things completed. To us, this was not a “run-of-the-mill” remodel due to extenuating circumstances - the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, all members of the Yourson Team that came to our house performed their jobs in an exemplary manner during trying times. We truly believe this job could not have been done to our satisfaction without your organization’s professional, calm, and approachable manner.
So Kathy and I want to extend our sincerest gratitude to the three of you personally, and to all the members of the Yourson organization (Pablo, Alan, Zak, Jeremiah, Larry, Andrea, Grayson, Victor, Efren – I know there were others but I cannot remember their names) for their work in remodeling our Sun City house into our dream home. Kathy and I have enjoyed working with your organization. We wish you much continued success.

We wish this type of review was out there before we started working with Yourson, it would have changed our mind. Phil, the owner, and his assistant came to our house and did a consultation and we explicitly said that one deciding factor was that we needed help in figuring out the design for our kitchen/dining/laundry remodel. They said they do that and we chose them. Fast forward and we've paid the design deposit and everything just isn't lining up to what we had been sold. First off, the office/scheduling seems pretty disorganized or they are just so busy they can't keep up. Secondly and most importantly, the design process was completely underwhelming as we had to put forth ideas and didn't get any help. The rendering looked like it was from free software off the internet and didn't seem up to the price tag. There is a clause in the design contract saying you'll be charged if change the design more than 2 times, Phil explained it was because one client wanted it changed some ridiculous amount of time. It really dawned on us that the reason their clients change the designs so much is because of the simplistic, minimal design work up front. They may be great at construction but ultimately we didn't want to chance it. In the end, we spoke to Phil who offered to step-in and take-over the design work, he was sorry about the process and admitted that his staff is overwhelmed with work. We will opt for a clean-slate even though we are out our design deposit.

We recently had our roof repaired by Yourson Contracting LLC. Everything went so smoothly it was a pleasure to work with them. They did a great job and totally cleaned up after the project. Thank you. The Board of the Youngtown Community Fund Inc.

I absolutely loved working with the team at Yourson. They listened and then went into action to to make my modern farmhouse happen without mistakes. It has everything my vision entailed with some wonderful ideas of their own. This major remodel was a dream come true thanks to their leadership and guidance.

We lived in our bedrooms while Yourson remodeled the rest of our home. We weren’t sure if this was going to work, but with their help it did. The experience was painless. Every step of the way from picking out fixtures to paint colors was so easy with their help. We felt so comfortable with their crews as the remodel went along. Every suggestion they made was spot on. They raised ceilings, moved duct work, took out a kitchen wall, insulated the attic, put in porcelain tile flooring, gave us new storage areas, and lots more. Again, we were able to live in the house while this was all done. Attention to detail was evident. They really do become like family and they take extra care like you would for your family. We were so happy with how it turned out that the following summer we had them remodel our bathrooms. We left for a number of weeks while this was done and the finished looks were outstanding. They took our 1960’s home and brought it into today’s modern look.

After requesting bids from three companies, we opted to work with Yourson Contracting. We liked the 10 year guarantee and the in depth description of what to expect during the work phase. My husband could not believe it would take over two weeks to install a zero threshold shower in place of our 30 years old Sun City West Del Webb bathtub. After they got started and he saw all the work involved he was a believer. I was pleased with how much care they took to keep the area clean and how pleasant all the craftsman who entered our home were. They took care to make sure my 90 year old mother would be able AND happy to use this wheelchair ready shower. I also want to give compliments to Diana for material selection - she had the right stuff on the counter when I first met with her! Love our new shower! And if we ever have another remodel project, I won't bother with bids. I'll call Yourson Contracting.

Everyone at Yourson contracting was extremely professional polite and attentive I would recommend working with this company for anyone needing residential contract work.

Yourson Contracting is the best contractor I've ever hired. From start to finish, they take all the stress off your shoulders. When/if construction surprises come up (and surprises ALWAYS come up!), they only come to you with solutions, not problems so you can focus on the transformation. Their team is reliable, trustworthy, and the best of the best. And once you nail down a date, they are FAST! They did my entire kitchen - from gutting it and starting from scratch - to completion in 1 month! They've also remodeled the formerly weird niches by the fireplace, and saved the office and master bedroom from damage by replacing an exterior door and suggested adding an awning - even though they don't do awnings. They've remodel 2 of my bathrooms, and our new house. I trust them implicitly for all of my remodeling needs. They are the ONLY contractors I trust.

Excellent workers. Clean and efficient. Went out of way to make sure customer is satisfied. Would use again for any construction repair.

I first engaged Yourson in 2014 to do an extensive re-design and remodel of my home in Sun City West. The remodel included moving walls, new doors, flooring, remodel with a new kitchen, cabinets, appliances, remodel of the guest bathroom, removal of popcorn ceiling, HVAC changes and painting. The remodel took about 4 months. Phil and the entire crew were excellent. The office staff and design staff were very supportive. Their work was first class quality and when a problem or issue arose, Phil worked to resolve it immediately. The following year, they remodelled the master closet with an excellent design of cabinetry and remodelled the master bathroom.
Phil, the owner, carefully manages his crews and ensures that things are done right. When I had problems with the wood floor, he worked hard with the manufacturer to ensure the warranty was properly addressed.
This past year, they did some minor outside work during the summer.
What is important to note is that I live some distance from SCW and during all of these projects, without me being there every day. Phil kept me informed with photos and updates.
I highly recommend the entire Yourson Contracting team for your construction needs.

This is a pretty clear case of people who wrongfully want to bash a small business with no merit. Given your track record of leaving one-star reviews on other businesses, we just want to let other businesses know- beware of these people. We are glad to no longer carry the burden of working with them.
You contracted us for design work and plans, which we completed. We provided professionally drawn architectural construction plans. We presented not one, or two, but THREE different design options for you, and we have documentation to prove that you never indicated that you were dissatisfied with any of them. You never told us you didn’t like the designs, you didn’t make any comments or complaints. Then, you completely blindsided us and decided to cancel the contract. This was a huge surprise to us, and one that we would’ve fixed earlier on if we would’ve known there was an issue.
It wasn’t until you abruptly cancelled the contract that Phil stepped in and offered to do what we would do for any other client. He offered to make any adjustments to make sure you were satisfied. Again, we have the email correspondence to prove this. Unfortunately, our attempt to satisfy you fell on deaf ears, as it was apparent that you were no longer interested in working with us and merely wanted a refund of work that was already completed. We believe this was not because you were “underwhelmed” by the designs, but because another contractor offered to do the work for cheaper, and you needed an excuse to get out of our contract.
After trying to reason with you, we’ve realized it’s best to just lay out the truth and leave this negative review visible for future clients. This is the equivalent of eating your entire plate at a restaurant, and then sending it back for a refund because you were “dissatisfied.”
Finally, we’d like to point out that Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner offered to remove their negative review and post a positive review, in exchange for payment. We declined their offer, and believe this should be enough information to hopefully guide you, the consumer, in knowing that these people are simply scammers who prey on small businesses. Shame.
