Harold and Lawrence "Larry" Wittkopf started Wittkopf Trucking (now Wittkopf Landscape Supply) in 1942. They had two trucks, that were purchased as military surplus after World War II. The trucks arrived in crates, Harold and Larry assembled them, and they were in business! At first they hauled mostly lumber and chord wood, but the business soon evolved. They hauled everything from potatoes, to clay and they brought in the first bark to be used for landscaping in Spokane. Wittkopf Trucking (as it was called in those days) soon became a fixture in the community.
As the company grew, so did the brothers' families. From the beginning their families were heavily involved in the business and its growth. Everybody pitched-in in those days.
Today Lawrence's eldest son Larry, and his wife Kristy run the business, with the help of their nephew, son in law, and three daughters, as well as many dedicated employees. The business is a far cry from what it was over 60 years ago. Today we offer a huge selection of landscape materials, two convenient show rooms, as well as a fleet of trucks and equipment. The family values built over many decades of hard work are still prevalent in our high quality products and exemplary customer service.

We have been committed to our community since 1942. In the early days we hauled truck loads of potatoes to the needy. Today we donate to several non-profits all over the area, from community gardens to fund raisers. We are especially active in the Spokane Humane Society, and the Lands Council.
