We would highly recommend WILLIAMS Architects! Matt Williams and Diane were excellent to work with designing our dream beach house located on Long Island Sound in Westbrook, Connecticut. Not only did they listen to our ideas and determine our style, they also had to deal with the many challenges of our property. Matt Williams and his team were great to work with - Excellent work and ideas. He had great approaches to architectural challenges that we encountered. He would be my 'go to' for any architectural work. He works extremely well with many builders. We've recommended Matt to several families looking for an architect, and always do so with confidence. We have a turn-of-the-century coastal house that we chose to dismantle and rebuild. It had a host of tricky and complex challenges involving architectural, engineering, and construction dilemmas. Matt and his team always had great options and ways to solve these challenges. He and his firm have great relationships with the towns, and have consistently faired well with zoning boards and governing bodies because of their mutual interests for client and community. We had to work around many relocation challenges, including a multiple stage household move. Additionally, I was traveling weekly to client locations. I'm sure I'm leaving out many additional challenges that added to our project's complexity. One might think that it would be difficult to maintain a productive working relationship with an architect with these complications – not so with Matt and his team. I'm happy to say that it was a wonderful experience all the way – but to say that we were happy with Matt’s work is an understatement. He has the credentials, creativity, skills, experience, quality-focus, and client relationship skills that make these projects very successful and pleasant experiences for homeowners. He is extremely professional, committed to his projects, responsive, and very easy to communicate with during the project. He also offered several service models for engaging his firm. Matthew Williams and staff are the consummate professionals. They have done several projects for me, both residential and commercial. Their design work is outstanding - combing a real sensitivity to the site and the local aesthetic, His firm has always delivered on time.
