Welsh Building Company

We’re proud of our building heritage at Welsh Building Company. It all started during the uncertain times of the Depression era in the small English town of Pershore. Managing Director Andrew Welsh’s grandfather worked as a builder, carrying bricks on a hod on many of the local building sites. Thankfully, the building tradition was passed on to Andrew’s father who moved from Cleeve Prior, England to Australia in 1955 with his parents and siblings where he became a bricklaying contractor specialising in commercial building in Sydney. When Andrew himself was only eight years old, he would help his father with various tasks on building sites. He left school at an early age to work full time with his father, and begun a bricklaying apprenticeship. After that, he explored other areas of the building trade such as carpentry, then went on to complete his builder’s degree. Fast forward to today, and the Welsh Building Company are producing some of the finest buildings in the Gold Coast.
