Bathstone Garden Rooms

Very sad & full of disappointment to have to write this review. We have put one star as Bathstone Garden Rooms refused to come back and complete the project they started. The issue arose after we highlighted some major snagging towards the end of the project. Andrew Knight insisted we pay him before he returned to complete the job. We were reluctant to do this as it left us vulnerable and Andrew Knight proved us right. Once he received payment of £4,000, no small sum, he sent us an email saying that his employees did not want to return as they did not like the way we had treated them. If copious amounts of tea and coffee, a place to sit and have lunch, use of a toilet and a guaranteed parking space is bad treatment we’d like to know what else we could have done. We even helped put waste and rubbish in the skip that we ordered and which Andrew said he would order. We also took delivery of some large heavy items which Andrew had assured us that he would take care of. Brand new items awaiting installation were damaged because they were not protected. Our new floor was damaged by tools dropping on it. The tiling in our shower room looked like it had been done by a novice. We have been left with French doors that do not close properly, a part finished shower room, the exterior not completed and much more. They left site a week into the project to go back and complete another project. They were gone a full week. Employees were also off sick regularly with no backup plan in place.

Andrew Knight and Bathstone did a small project for me and I can only commend their work and recommend them.

Bathstone constructed a fantastic garden office suite for us in 2017. We were so impressed with the way they operated from the outset. Bathstone visited several times to help us think through our needs before we decided upon a final design, and were always friendly, courteous and professional. They paid careful attention to detail and were flexible and accommodating as our ideas changed as the project evolved. Due to various work commitments, the office suite needed to be finished to a high specification within a very specific timeframe. This was all taken into account and delivered as promised. Bathstone offered the integrated solution that many others couldn't provide - a bespoke layout including a bathroom with regular flushing toilet. As the project unfolded, we decided to tweak the layout and these changes were incorporated without issue. We are delighted with the end result which is a light, airy, three roomed outdoor space that enables work to go on away from the bustle of family life. Since we both work from home, having this new space has transformed our working lives and protected family life - we can't imagine how we managed before the build! Bathstone have also provided an exceptional after sales service. We had a minor problem with the main door to the office and they returned several times to resolve the issue. When the door could not be straightforwardly adjusted it was simply replaced. We'd not hesitate to recommend this local company led by a charming, straightforward professional who was a pleasure to deal with.

Andrew and his team built me a garden studio to use as a library and general purpose room. The work was carried out to a top standard, and where there were tiny issues, Andrew ensured they were fixed and perfect before leaving. Someone was on site almost every day, so the work progressed well and reliably. He also stuck to budget, and worked with me to reduce costs where possible.

We used Bathstone for our village Tennis club renovation in December. I cannot recommend this company enough...not only did they finish early, but came in under budget...when does that ever happen? The guys were tidy and respectful and nothing was too much trouble. Andrew is very knowledgeable and patient, coming up with some fantastic ideas which has meant that we have been able to preserve our beloved club hut of 30 years for another 30....I will post a picture once the hut is painted
