Jessica at Tamiami Tile is an absolute pleasure to work with. As a designer and general contractor, I rely heavily on suppliers and vendors to provide quality products and service to my clients, and Jessica really delivers. She has a real eye for design and always points my clients in the right direction based on their vision and needs, and follows through with me from the point of sale through the installation process. The level of service is outstanding. I highly recommend her and do business with her myself at every opportunity. She doesn't disappoint!

Recently, I purchased what was advertised as being 750 sf of "new"porcelain tile from Tamiami Tile. "Glossy, polished like a mirror," was the promise. The 3,200 lbs. of tile was shipped to NJ and packaged very well in cardboard. After I signed for it and the delivery truck pulled away, I cut open the packaging to reveal tile that was better suited for the dumpster. It was cloudy, mottled, discolored, and in boxes and plastic that showed clear signs of water damage (the boxes were moldy, and the plastic was covered in red stripes that had bled from the exterior of the boxes). I then emailed MANY pictures to him showing the tiles, and that other than having obviously not been installed, they were far from new. The next day he shipped me an abrasive scrubber sponge and a bottle of toxic stripper that requires a mask, gloves, adequate ventilation, and multiple 15 minute treatments in order to attempt to clean the "new" 750 sf of tile. I'm 4 months pregnant, I thought, when did I sign up for this?!! To make matters even worse, I have had to move this 3,200 lb pile of tile multiple times, since my clients are renovating and it is at their home. I have spent a lot of time and effort simply moving this tile from room to room of their Victorian. I even took it upon myself to try to sell the tile, and whoever sees the tile laughs at me and looks at me as though I'm trying to cheat them. Since, unlike me, these potential buyers have had the chance to actually SEE the tile first, they have rejected the tile. Even Habitat for Humanity refused to accept the tile for free since their condition would be an insult to the future home dwellers, the woman there explained to me. I have never in all my years doing home design and renovation experienced ANYTHING like this. Unbeknownst to him, the project for which he sold the 750sf of tile requires an additional 11,250sf of tile for its 2 kitchens, 15 bathrooms and 3 Great Halls. He has lost a great tile opportunity, as well as raised the ire of many people on this project.

Jason was referred to me by a coworker and while i wound up purchasing my tile elsewhere, he gave me superior service and attention. Had I known what I wanted going in, I would have bought my tile from him without a doubt. Unfortunately it was a "know it when I see it" situation and I wound up buying from another business that was rude and overcharged me. Even though I wound up not hiring Jason, he continued communication with me if I asked for any additional advice. When I get ready to remodel my kitchen next year I will be going to Tamiami Tile without a doubt!
