We recently did a large renovation on our rowhouse in Brooklyn. Highly recommend Andrew from Architecture AF! He is extremely professional and talented. He is an excellent communicator with a strong vision and great attention to detail. He not only has knowledge of all the structural issues that can occur, but also knows a source for every kind of knob and finish you could ever want. He was able to take our aesthetic and reconfigure our space to not only function better ( it's so much brighter now!), but also adapt to our personal family needs. I have heard nightmare stories about renovations but thanks to Andrew's great connections with contractors, structural engineers, and the DOB -our process ran smoothly and on our target timeline.

How do you restore one of the last remaining works of art by a revolutionary and iconoclastic architect while also updating and modernizing a home for a contemporary family to live in? That was the challenge presented to Forrest Frazier and Architecture AF by my wife and I when we showed them the original plans to our 1968 Andrew Geller Antler House in East Hampton, NY. Forrest not only accomplished this impossible task, but did it on budget, with passion, joy, and skill. Embracing the spirit of Andrew Geller, and a unique 'three walls' approach to restoration and renovation, the Antler House is not only back where it belongs as a piece of midcentury modern art nestled in a white oak forest, but it's also an exceptionally livable and practical home for our family and guests. The 'three wall' approach took the three most important sides of the home - both interior and exterior - and restored them to 100% original. The fourth wall, the back of the home not visible to the street, was restored to 90% original but also gave birth to a small bathroom extension, modern HVAC, and a larger 2nd story deck and carport. Forrest was involved from concept to completion, working effortlessly with Andrew Geller's grandson and a constultant/historian for the project, an owner/interior designer, an unknown local builder, and the tricky city of East Hampton making the project smooth and rewarding from start to finish. We are looking forward to future projects with Architecture AF.

Our remodeling project focused initially on increasing accessibility within and outside our traditional two-story home. Until we worked with Architecture AF, we had no idea we could do so in such an attractive and creative manner. Andrew and Forrest prepared detailed plans that blended traditional and modern architecture in ways we had never imagined. They also interfaced effectively with builders throughout the project. We enjoyed working with them so much that we hired Andrew and Forrest to renovate our garage and coordinate a makeover for the back yard with Kennon Williams Landscape Studio. Needless to say, we are thrilled with the result!

Andrew Herbert of Architecture AF is a highly talented, professional, creative, reliable and diligent architect. He also is a pleasure to work with. Andrew assisted us on two projects. The first was an apartment in NYC which required an interior reconfiguration and a terrace design. Andrew went above and beyond in obtaining approval for our terrace design from a neighborhood historic district council. His work to demonstrate the attractions of the proposed work, and his documentation of comparable projects within our neighborhood were critical to obtaining the necessary approvals. The design work was very responsive to our ideas and wish list, including several creative solutions to get the most out of the space. Andrew's turnaround and follow ups were always timely. His execution and supervision of the work and installations was excellent. We were so happy with Andrew’s work that we hired him the following year to totally renovate a 1920s home. Again he helped maximize the use of space, meet a tight budget and create a beautiful result. Over the last 30 years, we have worked with five architectural firms on eight projects.
