Based on our experience, we DO NOT recommend you use Travek to remodel your home. They are terrible and will give you a headache! We renovated our kitchen with them and were told this was a 45-day project. It took them over THREE MONTHS to complete the project even though we never asked for change orders on the design and no materials were missing. All of the delays seemed to be coming from the lack of properly scheduling workers. There were weeks that contractors only worked for two hours. Unless of course they no-showed altogether! As the weeks ticked by, we felt like we were always asking why people were not working. We were desperate for the project to be completed so we could stop living in a construction zone. We never received consistent reasons as to why our project wasn't being touched. The story always changed about bigger priorities. Travek if you don't have the employees or subcontractors to take on a project then you should have denied the work or been honest about the timeline. Travek supervision did NO site inspections during the months that construction was in process. Unfortunately, the worst part about this ordeal is the final product. For example, they installed two non-load-bearing walls crooked! ♀️ They re-did 5 items in the kitchen on our check list multiple times until we finally said it was good enough. When we pushed for the fixing of the crooked walls or retribution we were denied. Instead they gave excuses. Again Travek if you don't understand a customer's design then you need to say so. We expected more from a professional remodeling company. If you are considering a remodel or renovation I urge you to use another company. Altogether they do not seem to be knowledgeable about design, scheduling, bearing walls, pony walls, and types of building permits required by our city. This was not our first renovation but it absolutely was the worst we've experienced. We regret our choice in Travek completely.

We hired TraVek to build a 12x14 addition to the master bedroom. Everything was handled very professionally from our initial meeting with Todd to the actual construction headed by Mark. The estimate was very detailed, so we were all on the same page. We were impressed by how they paid attention to details of matching the trim, inside and out, to the rest of the house. They were honest, dependable, and up to date on the codes. Every day they cleaned up before they left. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
We were especially pleased with how well the workers were careful not to let our dogs escape.

I invited TraVek in to provide a proposal for my bathroom remodel. We discussed a budget, I indicted my budget was $25k. Thom indicted it would take more to complete the project and asked if $30k-$35k would be ok. I agreed, he put it on the preliminary budget sheet which then included a $300 retainer, non refundable. Thom, upon returning with a proposal for my project. I was, admittedly excited to see what he had come up with. He went through the design. He then verbally told me the cost of the project would be $64,000! I honestly had nothing to say at that time. I was in shock! Why did we go through the dance of putting $30-$35k on the prelimary budget sheet? I then requested the itemized bid to be sent to me to review. Thom refused, indicted he doesn’t email bids. I then requested my $300 retainer returned on the fact his project bid was double what we had discussed. There was no intention of TraVek to come with a bid within my budget. I am still awaiting my refund of my retainer. I would never hire TraVek, ever. Very poor business practices!

Upon receiving this, we went through the records to try get a better understanding of what went on. According to our records and as stated on your design retainer, the 30-35K was a ballpark figure. It was based on what was discussed at your first meeting with Thom. When Thom met with you the second time for the product selections, and another decision-maker joined you, the scope of what you wanted had changed. The shower was to be made bigger, the closet was changed to include barn doors, a second shower head was added, and you wanted to keep a tub. Thom then created a design based on that conversation and the product selections, and the price came out higher because of the additions.
At this point you were only partially through the design phase, and you were requesting itemized pricing and a full Scope of Work, but at that point we did not have an agreement of what was to be installed and so we could not give a full Scope of Work. More importantly, though, we do not just mail out Scopes of Work. In all our years of experience, our customers have appreciated that we sit down with them to go over this in person because then we can answer any questions and concerns right then. Emailing just seems to allow for confusion and mixed up messages. It would have been very important to go over this in person so that we could work the design together to come closer to what the initial ballpark was, or if you were intent on additions to the original scope, to be able to point that out, too.
At that point you said you wanted to think about the options of a tub vs no tub, and whether or not to re-do the closet doors. You were going to think about it for a week, and then get back with Thom. He offered to schedule a time with you so that you could go over any changes you had decided on.
At that time, you said you did not know what your schedule was for the following week so Thom was not able to schedule a follow up appointment with you. The design process was left mid-stream, and so we never did come to a final price or Scope of Work.
Our purpose is to serve our customers, and part of that is by designing to a realistic budget. Thom would not have started the design if the initial budget was not realistic. We were not there yet, and this was a design still in process. If you would like to continue the design process, we are glad to do so. Please call our offices at 480-367-1171.

A few years ago I hired Travek to build a guest house on a property I was managing for an international couple. The project went great and the high quality work makes all the difference. It was built with energy efficiency in mind and I know from living in there myself, how comfortable it was to be there. I highly recommend Travek to anyone considering any remodeling projects no matter the size and scope. Great company!

We had a small remodel and signed a contract with Travek. Communication was slow and poor. After several months of waiting for the project to begin, we mutually agreed to pare down the scope significantly. Travek introduced me to their subcontractor, and I never heard from them again until they requested payment at the end of the project. Very disappointing.

We are sorry to see this comment left here. Originally we had a mutually agreed upon contract, and then the scope was changed, and we graciously allowed you to back out of most of the contract. Basically we ended up finding another subcontractor to custom-make the furniture for a desk and book area installation. We pride ourselves on 5-Star Service, and we apologize that we didn't do that even though we did everything in our power to provide that for you.
We had two small projects done by Travek. They do good work, but do not use them for small projects. Their prices are very high and there are delays and problems with follow-up. It took nearly one year for them to come back and complete the trim work on a small remodeling project in our home office. The only way we got a call back on finishing this work was because I responded to a Travek marketing e-mail that had been sent to me. I asked in a reply e-mail if someone could call so that we could get the trim done. Despite that plea, it took months before they returned to finish the work. Interestingly, despite all of the difficulty we experienced and the delay, they would not make any adjustments in price. In their minds, we still owed them money after a year of waiting, which we paid. We feel that we were more than patient with them, something they have yet to acknowledge. We also feel that they took advantage of us.
We decided to give them another try and have them do the project we had pending with them for an estimate for over a year. The project took less time and effort than the contract listed as being required. There were steps that were included that were not required. We asked, thinking that perhaps for the sake of customer satisfaction and their delays that they would agree. However, no price adjustment again. We are done trying to work with them and hope this review helps others avoid the problems we experienced.
I believe their focus is on the big projects and that they take on small projects in between. If you have a small project, the price will be high and the follow-up tricky. .
I would not recommend them.

We hired Travek to do some major renovations in our property. They have been extremely professional and we are very pleased with their service. Todd Raisanen spent a great deal of time with us attending to all the details of the project prior to and after our signing the contract. We felt confident with our decision to work with this company. We needed to have this confidence because we were leaving this project entirely in their hands, we are snowbirds in the USA but live in Canada. This work was being done for us after we had returned home to Canada. Travek kept us informed with photos and emails as the work progressed. Todd and his brother, Von, returned our calls and emails promptly if we needed to talk to them.
We would be happy to recommend them to others.

Excellent and professional work. Remodeled master bath, painted inside-out and refinished all of the woodwork. This work was completed with minimum disruption to our daily lives.
