Tilly | Landscape Design

Using Tilly was a great choice for my family, as garden enthusiasts and DIYers. We knew we didn't need full-scale implementation and the costs that came with it, so hiring a digital service that provided a map and plant selection was a great option. Our designer was kind, enthusiastic, a great listener, and responsive. The process was seamless but I did not feel lacking in the personal touch because of digital delivery. In fact, I recently\ had to ask them a question and their customer service was great -- three years after we first engaged! The investment in Tilly was well worth it, because we've more than saved the amount in mistakes avoided because of their plan and good counsel. We truly started with a blank slate and have implemented their ideas in phases, and now it is paying off beautifully. I would recommend Tilly without hesitation.

Tilly did a great job designing our landscape and providing good directions. After the project/collaboration began, Covid hit and we needed to adjust our budget. Tilly was kind enough to modify the plans for us, with a smaller budget in mind. Very considerate.

I bought a package for my front yard, that apart form a couple of olive trees, it was a blank slate. I had a meeting with a designer and told her a couple of ideas I had (plants by the fence and a tree in a corner) and what kind of plants I would like, and the type of yard I was looking for, and told her I did not know what to do with the rest and that I was open to ideas. Well, I got a design with plants by the fence (not one of the ones I requested) a tree in the corner and other then that pebbles everywhere else, nothing else but pebbles. So basically, all she did was add rocks to my original design, and I paid for that! I thought I would contact them and explain what happened and see if they could maybe let me meet with someone else, but after three emails in the span of a month without the courtesy of a reply, I am not very hopeful I will ever hear from them. Now I am out of almost $400 and a design that is basically rocks. I don't usually write reviews but I felt I needed to let people know about this company. The design is not even the worst part, it is really the complete lack of response to my emails, extremely unprofessional.

A huge thank you to Team Tilly for their incredible work. We were blown away with the garden design they did for our condominium building. The design, attention to detail and speed was very impressive. The whole process was hassle free. We would certainly recommend Tilly to anyone who is seeking a quality, cost-effective and beautiful garden make-over.

We used Tilly for a large, multi-floor backyard roof deck and are thrilled with the design. Our house has a contemporary vibe and we were starting with an empty space. We wanted to soften the look with lots of greenery, an extended built in BBQ area (side by side Big green egg & gas grill) and a few seating areas. Our design was delivered on time and with careful considerations to our special requests. We have had fun over the past few months following the plan and getting way more use of the deck. We highly recommend!

I used Tilly in 2020 to help me with my front yard and there was no question I was going to use them again for my backyard. Our designer helped us see a smarter layout, which made a lot more sense than our original idea. We had the added issue of needing to get a variance from the village in order to keep an existing outbuilding on the property and having a design to show was invaluable. Since I've had my plans, I've been able to work with our landscaper, mason, and carpenter to show them the vision/idea. Our landscaper was able to quote us the project cost with the planting plan and scaled design.

Honestly we were skeptical so we only had Tilly design our front yard to start, but we absolutely loved the plan and will be doing the backyard with them next spring. We didn't purchase the 3D images this time, but I think they'll be helpful for the back as we plan to make more significant changes there. Overall a great value and we're excited to work with them again!

I had been trying to update our backyard for years, but I was at a loss as I know little about plants and don't have a good design eye. We would go to the local plant store and leave empty handed not knowing what would work in our yard. A friend suggested Tilly to create a backyard plan for us and I wish we had done it years ago. A terrific experience and our yard looks great now.

My wife and I bought a new home on a small, 1/5 acre lot last March and it looks like both the front and back yards had been neglected for years (decades?). I knew we wanted a full re-do of the landscaping, and I'm pretty handy and plan to do the majority of the work myself, but Tilly was able to provide us with a phased approach for the backyard that made much more sense (and less stressful) than what I had in mind. I definitely recommend Tilly if you're feeling stuck and not sure how to lay out your space.

My wife and I went back and forth on whether to use Tilly's or go through brick&batton and we chose Tilly's because our main focus was putting in a pool and what the landscape would look like around it and HEY they use plants that do well in your area so let’s do it! We paid for the full and did the upgrades for lighting and 3D, we were very excited until.... our first video call, and the video wouldn't work. The guy said "weird that's never happened before" but assured us that we had enough pictures he had what he needed. We waited the 7-8 weeks just to have him put the pool in the wrong direction which threw everything off! We had to use our ONLY 1 free revision on something that shouldn't have been done in the first place! We ended up asking someone else to do it who said the previous person "wasn't far off" but yet we are waiting another 6-8 weeks to see the revision. The person that took over also mentioned the previous guy used a few plants that weren't native to the area (weird! I thought that's what the company specialized in!) When we got our 2nd revision, they completely left off the landscaping around the mailbox-there was a huge hole! Do you mean our plan went to 3D imaging and they also missed that detail? They removed our AC units and put plants in their spot (pretty sure I won't be able to do that)- I had to email them about both the issues. The backyard looks good... finally! But the front yard looks like garbage and we won't use their design for the front! What a waste of money! In summary, I WOULD NOT use them again nor would I recommend using them.

I'm not sure if this company is a scam or not? I met with a designer, had a VERY simple yard to design. Specified what I wanted. After a couple weeks I got a design that matched nothing I had asked for. For example, I specifically said I wanted 6 palm trees along the front. He put 2. I said I wanted 3 placed along the side to give me privacy from neighbors, he put 5 evenly spaced out along the side not at all lined up where I had asked for. They offer one modification to their design. I marked up all the changes I needed on the same day they sent me their "design". About a week later I get "Your changes have been done and your design is complete!". I'm not exaggerating, not a single thing was changed. I emailed them back immediately and asked them why they didn't make a single change. No response. I called them 9 times, it always goes to voice mail. I'm not sure if they are even a legit company at this point. I can't speak to anyone, they've ignored all my contacts and did nothing I asked for. Avoid, save yourself $800. I disputed payment with my CC. They'll have to respond to them. *** I did want to update the review since my issues were resolved. Apparently the designer uploaded the same version accidently and didn't see or have access to my "project review" I submitted. Secondly I was told that the customer service agent was on vacation that week, so they were not able to respond to my calls. Not until I wrote the feedback did they realize their mistake and fix it immediately. They told me they have a new dashboard coming out that should solve the communication and customer service issues I had. I think once that's out it'll be a 5 start service. Until then, customer service needs work and it's a 3 start process, for me.

What a great idea!! Working through all the details to get a landscaping plan together can be really cumbersome, slow and expensive. Tilly was fantastic. We were able to get connected with a landscape architect, do a virtual walkaround our property and get a fantastic plan in about a month - start to finish. I highly recommend this to anyone in need of a landscaping plan.
