My husband and I had Tom come to our house for a consultation in November. It took 3-4 weeks to get some designs from him. He came back to meet with us about the designs. Here I am, end of January, still shopping around for cabinets and counters. I had multiple people measure my kitchen recently and found out Tom didn't even measure our space correctly. He was way off- not just by an inch or two. If we would have purchased cabinets based off this, they wouldn't fit. When I reached out to Tom regarding this, his response was, "I'm human and make mistakes". Yes that's true, but I paid you A LOT of money for a design just to find out it's not even accurate! He also said, "You waited 2 months to tell me this" - well yes, I didn't think I had to recheck your measurements!!! You should be able to trust your designer. I asked for a refund since I bought the design from him. Of course he said no. He offered a whopping 10% off if I buy cabinets from him - he quoted us 50k which is insane just for cabinets. Don't waste your time

I recently had the pleasure of working with Thomas Richard of TRS Designs, Inc. for the design and installation of solid wood cabinets in my kitchen. From the initial consultation to the final result, my experience with this company was exceptional. One of the standout features of TRS Designs is the quality of their solid wood cabinets. The craftsmanship is evident, and the soft-close mechanisms add a touch of luxury to the overall design. Tom, who met with us in the showroom, demonstrated a high level of expertise and professionalism. Tom utilized advanced computer software to input our floor plan and effortlessly moved the cabinets around to showcase various layouts. This interactive approach allowed us to visualize different options and make informed decisions about our kitchen design. We were having trouble understanding how we could make our space more usable, but with Tom’s expertise and eye for design, he was able to design us a dream kitchen! This included taking out a wall and moving around appliances - things we would have never considered. My favorite part about working with Tom was his responsiveness to any of our questions and concerns. If there was a potential problem, he was able to come in and resolve it right away. Tom designed our kitchen and we could not have been happier with the results, or the process! We were making a few structural changes and lacked vision for how to design the most efficient layout for our space. Tom provided a few options to consider, and ultimately we found one that was perfect. He was patient as we made adjustments like flipping the dishwasher location. He provided solutions, like a kidney bean shaped corner cabinet that drastically improves our useable space. The insides of all our cabinets are outfitted perfectly for all of our needs – he thought of everything. His recommendation to install a walnut countertop to our island, took it from being just an eat-in kitchen, to feeling like our family is gathered around a giant table making memories. We won’t hesitate to hire Tom for a future project!

We were about to purchase our kitchen cabinets elsewhere TRS Designs was recommended. We had a tight turnaround time. Tom was able to meet with us quickly. He walked us through all of the options and decisions. He made a number of recommendations to the design that we hadn't thought of. We provided him photos of what we were trying to achieve and he was able to replicate that. We did have a cabinet that needed to be shipped back to the manufacturer due to a manufacturing error. Tom worked with the company to arrange the pick up, correction, and redelivery of the cabinet. Our kitchen and pantry are stunning. I'm very happy that we found TRS Designs.

I highly recommend TRS-Designs, Inc. In a recent renovation, we were about to use a lower-end online cabinet retailer when Thomas reached out. I was pleasantly surprised that we could keep our budget and get higher quality semi-custom cabinets with the added bonus of his excellent customer service. Thomas is very knowledgeable and presented many options to me that I hadn’t considered. He was readily available for any questions or concerns. We look forward to using TRS-Designs, Inc. on future projects.

We used Tom for our kitchen remodel in early 2020 and were very pleased. He is a talented designer, and has a ton of patience with indecisive clients like us. We must of changed our design a dozen times! He was helpful during the process, meaning he would provide his opinion when my wife and I were having a tough time deciding. Pricing was similar to the big box stores, however the personalized service that you receive can't compare. Tom was always available, and also checked in on my contractors several times. You can tell that he loves what he does...it really shows, and is nice to work with someone who is so enthusiastic. I would definitely recommend using Tom for my next project.

We hired Tom (TRS) to design and execute our kitchen remodel in the Fall of 2019. The important things to know about working with Tom include the following: 1.He is responsive and reliable - two things often hard to find in any service provider. Those things alone are worth paying for. 2.His depth of experience means he helps guide you in the right direction based on your desire for your project, but also helps you to avoid pitfalls. He has a vision if you’re totally lost, but he can also work with your vision to deliver what you want. 3.He’ll help you work within your budget. For example, rather than replacing our cabinets he thought we’d be better off simply painting the existing ones. This saved us a bunch of money, and they look great. 4.He partners with outstanding contractors. We loved all the contractors that were on our job, particularly our GC, Ian. All the work was top notch from the painting to the plumbing. 5.He has high standards. If something was not right, Tom was the one to step in with the contractors and make sure it was. We never had to be “the bad guy”. We can’t recommend Tom enough. We’ll be using him again for a basement finishing.

I have had the unique opportunity to work with Tom on my kitchen remodel. The kitchen was part of a larger addition and remodel of the entire first floor. Tom was invaluable in not only the layout of our kitchen but also with the larger remodel in suggesting a redistribution of space that made for a much more spacious living area. The kitchen layout is very natural and flows with the way my wife and I use the space. Tom's knowledge and experience show in his ability to make a kitchen that can be a showpiece but can also be comfortable and fit with the realities of a working kitchen.

Working with Tom at TRS Designs, after literally speaking with and meeting with 5 other designers/contractors, over a years time period of struggling with our kitchen reno, was a breathe of fresh air. My project was not just about replacing existing cabinets and appliances but about rearranging the flow of the kitchen to work better for my family. Tom is down to earth, creative, realistic, and above and beyond available to discuss ideas/concerns/budget/design/you name it. Tom loves what he does and it shows. I truly enjoyed working with Tom and love our new kitchen so, so much!
