The Shed Collective

Established in 2016, The Shed Collective (TSC) is a young talented and experienced, process driven, architectural practice based in the inner-west of Sydney, NSW. We work in an open-plan studio environment in collaborative teams to ensure the smooth delivery of projects. Over the last two years, TSC have been engaged in many projects ranging from medium scaled retail-commercial-workshop spaces to single residential alterations and additions. Our collective network is led by Practice Principal and Design Director, Heleana Genaus. Continuously recognised for her contributions within the core-advisory and communications team with non-for-profit organisation Healthabitat, Heleana remains highly regarded within the architectural profession. She has led healthy living and sanitation build-research projects in Nepal and Australia, and has lectured tutored, and been on juror panels at UNSW, USYD, UTS, the White House Institute of Design and the Australian Institute of Architects. Small in scale, clients can be assured that Heleana and her team are intimately involved in every project. Our ethos surrounds the concepts of a Shed, in that, a Shed consists of the basic components necessary for shelter, a basic human right that we believe should not be mutually exclusive. We believe that good designed sheds should be more accessible and that more architects should be where they’re not. At TSC, we guide clients to realise their visions by enabling them to stay engaged with the process of design through to construction ensuring they are always supported.
