If you are renovating a deck house, you must hire Molly!! We bought a 1970 Acorn Deck House in July 2020 and had ambitious renovation plans. Our goal was to bring the house to the 21st century while maintaining the character of the house. Molly worked on several plans for us and helped bring all of our desires to reality. With some budget constraints, Molly also found creative ways to save us money and recommend different phases for our renovation. We are so glad Molly worked with us this year - we knew of her expertise in architectural design, but approached her on the exterior landscaping. Having just completed a total reno of our mid-century modern house, the landscaping around the house was literally crumbling - a badly damaged bluestone patio with cinder block steps to the house were the only sign that someone had once thought about spending time there; beyond that, a dangerously unguarded boulder wall/cliff further gave way to a battle of yard vs forest. We didn't want anything that looked too manicured, but wanted to create a distinct outdoor space to enjoy as a real extension of our house, better transition from the style of the house to the wilderness of the forest, and most importantly, giving the house a "built into the landscape" look vs sitting on a hill. Problem was we had no idea how to do that, so enter Molly. Long story short, we immediately saw inspiring concepts that somehow perfectly translated what we vaguely described but couldn't have imagined how to make it come to life. She guided us expertly through options, cost drivers, and contractor selection. Pouring herself into the project from the start, you could tell how passionate she was about it, and enjoyed watching the project take shape as much we did. She was also a huge help with the contractors, there whenever needed to help solve any challenge and make needed plan changes realtime. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Molly was part of our 'team' for a major addition (to us). My wife Robin and I are pretty hands-on and know what we want. Molly respected our thoughts and ideas and integrated them into her thoughts and ideas. Her involvement as a designer and consultant was like the frosting on the cake for us. She made everything better. Everything. We would not hesitate to recommend her!

Molly has all the qualities you look for in a design consultant. She listens to understand your goals, she makes suggestions you would never have come up with, she has the respect of the builders, and she is a great communicator. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her on my family room / mud room addition and renovation. This was a project I’d been thinking about, and not doing, for many years. Working with Molly Tee was the best decision we made when tackling our renovation. We actually started the project with another architect who never understood what we were trying to accomplish. Molly was the perfect match for us — she considered so many variables, from how the sun moves around the house to how to maximize views, to how we watch television and entertain guests. She worked seamlessly with our builder to realize the plans, and made thoughtful and creative suggestions along the way as we struggled with so many decisions. She's also a lovely person with a great sense of humor and tremendous patience, all of which we appreciated even more when our project slowed to a halt at the start of COVID. Molly Tee of Tee House Design has worked with us on several renovation and upgrade projects on our Deck House. When we bought the house we learned that Molly had been the designer for the Sun Room addition that is the focal point of our home, and we soon discovered that she had designed or redesigned several other rooms that give the house light, warmth, and graceful character. Since then, we have worked with Molly Tee on a bathroom redesign, the creation of a hillside waterfall/stream, and most recently the design and extension of the elevated outdoor deck. Through all of these diverse renovations Molly has given us beautiful and workable designs that have greatly enhanced our home. We started working with Molly Tee about 6 months ago on our Deck House renovation, and it has been a great experience! If you’re considering renovating your Deck House, we absolutely would recommend that you contact her. As part of our due diligence, we met with an architect, a kitchen design person, and Molly Tee. It was very clear that Molly Tee was the best person to help us with designing and planning our renovations (which will include redoing the kitchen, adding a new bathroom and bedroom, and moving a few interior walls). Not only did she have the most amount of expertise, but her hourly rate was also the most reasonable. She is a real Deck House expert- having worked for Deck House for many years and being a Deck House owner herself, who has done renovations at her own home. Molly has a deep appreciation and understanding for all of the nuances of Deck Houses, and had many really smart renovation ideas for us. She also has helped us think about how we actually live day to day, how the space will evolve over time (ex. as our small kids grow up), and most importantly for me- how to get a walk in closet in the master bedroom! Molly also thinks a lot about light and seasons, something that I would have never thought about, but have come to appreciate because of her. She thinks about what part of the house will get the best light, and how to maximize it with appropriate windows. She’s also helped us think about the best design for the outdoor deck. Another benefit of working with Molly Tee is that she knows and has worked with most of the local contractors that do Deck House renovations in the greater Boston area. She has been an absolute pleasure to work with, and we can’t imagine doing this renovation without her!

Molly and I worked together at Deck House where I had great respect for her and her knowledge of houses and aesthetic senses. When I decided to build a house I tracked her down for help with the design. She continues to amaze, with great listening ability, good advice and careful attention to budget considerations. She has really good ideas and has created a dream house and detached carriage house that I hope to start building a in the spring of 2018.

We were eager to add a architecturally distinctive screened porch to our deck house in Carlisle Massachusetts. Because we're nestled in the woods, and the porch would be on display from the approach to the house, we wanted a design that would capture attention, coordinate with the deck house style, and act as a fully integrated transition between the indoor living area and the gardens and woods outdoors. Molly Tee totally got our needs and brought her creativity to develop a really impressive design. She presented us with multiple concepts with different roof lines, exposures, and design elements, and then helped us narrow down to the one that really captured the personality of our house and our planned usage. She coordinated the construction drawings and engineering specs/approvals, and she also connected us with different contractors and construction bids and supported us through the construction. We're thrilled with the outcome and look forward to working with her on our next project.

Molly is expert on deck houses and had several excellent ideas for my deck house renovation. Her plans made creative use of remodeled space. She is a pleasure to work with. Would gladly hire her for additional projects.
