Taylor will not be the lowest bid for your project, so if that is what you are looking for, do not bother calling him. If you are looking for someone who will get your job done correctly, smoothly, and honestly, he's your guy. We made the mistake of hiring a cheaper contractor, only to fire him at the beginning of the project. Thank goodness Taylor was available to take over and finish our home.

Shoreline Construction took over my remodel after I had to split ways with a contractor and architect. Taylor did an amazing job and the house came out better than I could have imagined. It was very difficult working with the city and Coastal Commission which he solved all issues fantastic. He added many great ideas that made the difference for a great outcome. He helped out excellent with the budget but did not sacrifice quality. Also when a few things needed adjusting after finished he came back and took care of everything. Taylor with Shoreline is absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend him for any construction/home build/remodel/building needs you may have. During the last 10 years Shoreline has been reinventing my home section by section ( too big to do at once). Completion of each section of the home on time, on estimate, shows up on time in the mornings. I've heard nightmares other people have experienced with contractors. My experience is the opposite, trust in their quality and expertise. Besides I relied on Taylor's opinion with design, an added benefit was his taste.

We are recent retirees from the University of California, and hired South Coast Shoreline Construction to do the first major remodel of our home in the Turtle Rock area of Irvine. The work covered over half the house including both interior and exterior work. We are quite attentive to details, and we were very focused on the quality of materials and workmanship. In the planning stage, Taylor Helm was collaborative with us and our designer and offered many excellent suggestions that we are glad we adopted. He has a designer's eye that he utilized throughout this project with respect to both larger and smaller details (e.g., swapping out a glass slider for a French door in our study; having a wooden valence built rather than using a standard fabric valence). In the work phase, we found that Taylor had an outstanding crew of his own plus excellent subcontractors with whom he has very good working relationships. With all the crafts and trade involved in this remodel, Taylor had very high standards for the workers' performance, standards that were communicated clearly and respectfully, and which were then met. In a few instances where a third party supplier attempted to veer off schedule, we appreciated the energy and passion that Taylor brought to bear to stay on schedule. Taylor visited our home daily, was always reachable by phone or email, and was responsive to our questions and concerns. There were no surprises in the budgeting process. When unforeseen major problems arose (e.g., a slab leak), he solved the problems without missing a beat as was true for handling minor problems (e.g, wrong delivery of a toilet). We "camped" in part of our house while the work proceeded and appreciated that Taylor and his crew were respectful and helpful in working around us. We are delighted with the finished results of our remodel, and we strongly recommend Taylor as an outstanding, experienced contractor and as an engaging person with whom to work.
