Westchester manhattan Connecticut Architecture and Interior firm, Note: An average house after renovation with Energy efficiency saves about 1/2 million dollars in 30 years, larger double that.having been trained by Philip Johnson and Edward Barnes in the 80's and 90's. Trained in Europe as well as in US meant solid artistic and technical upbringing, and thus building and garden - SITE and VIEWS - is the the driver for interiors as well. No one has moved out of my projects in 30 years except by health (death) or relocation. Our focus is on Class A Office Buildings, Museums, Concert Halls, Retail, Government Buildings, Broadcasting, Air Terminals, Stadiums and Urban Design. We are based in the New York Metropolitan area and operate globally. On time delivery and cost control with ‘timeless design’ that stands changes in architectural fashion is our first priority. During the past decade in particular, we have merged energy efficiency into one comprehensive guiding design principle. Fifteen years ago we considered moving because of multiple problems in our beautiful home. The kitchen was cramped and dark, the dining room was tight, there was no family room or space to display our pottery collection or books. Talo came up with ingenious solutions that solved all these problems and enhanced the look and our enjoyment of our home tremendously. He was present throughout the construction and worked closely with the contractor.

Harry Waizer

We hired Tapani to design a major renovation, completely redoing and expanding our kitchen and redoing a guest room and bathroom. We were thrilled with the results. Tapani took charge from the start,meeting with us to understand both our wants and our needs, focusing deeply on both the aesthetics and the utility of our space. He thoughtfully listened to us and designed creatively for who we were as a family rather than offering us cookie-cutter solutions. He gave us a kitchen that is magazine-worthy, full of light and air, but that is also a wonderfully functioning kitchen for a family that likes to entertain often and large. His simple addition of a 1/2 wall turned our guest room into a great mini-suite. He was full of great ideas. He also worked closely with our contractor to ensure that the vision and the reality matched, making sure the materials used were the best for our needs. The result is that when people walk into our kitchen their eyes get big and we hear a lot of "wows." And when friends help us cook, they marvel at all the little touches that make it work so well. We could not be happier.

Tapani is a gifted architect with vision of both the beautiful and the practical. He designed and oversaw the transformation of our home, and provided the expertise to make it "green" as well as beautiful. We now have a super-insulated and highly energy-efficient home that is comfortable year-round with geo-thermal heating/cooling and solar (P.V.) electric panels.

Tapani Talo is an extraordinary architect. He worked closely with me to design exactly what I wanted and needed, with an exceptionally open and creative mind. He worked with the municipality to get the building permit, and with the contractor from the beginning till the end of the project - he did not just hand me the plan and walk away, as it seems other architects do. Every detail got his attention and guidance. His whole design revolved around providing for sustainable, solar energy, as well as creating stunning and functional interiors. The design called for opening the dining room, kitchen and additional space into a single expanse, yet providing lovely nooks. To accomplish this, a supporting wall had to be removed, and Mr. Talo found the structural engineer to design the support beam. And he provided guidance in energy conservation with the most thorough insulation, among many other significant details. I cannot say enough in praise of this outstanding professional.
