Does contemporary architecture still go on the same line of evolution of the modern movement or have taken certain characters that diverge from the lessons of the masters of the twentieth century ? The ideological position from which comes this "hypothesis of a contemporary refuge" can be summed up in an attempt to provide an answer , it is in fact a project that takes its clear architectural references in the works of Mies and above all, in the Wright’s works and interpreting them in a contemporary way for a fusion with the actual linguistic trend "objectual ". From this perspective, the project is the result of a research of a way to produce an architecture with a great expressive freedom and, at the same time, perfectly consistent with the values of modernity. The fragmentation of the architectural wrapping is also taken as a strategic choice able to donate a calibrated relationship with the human scale . The spaces are propagating , they flow freely and are defined , organized and channeled by the opaque shell in an autonomous way respect the geometry of the transparent diaphragms that materially divide the “inside” from the “outside". In other words, the surfaces that define the architectural form assume the role of containers of perceived space and psychological limit that doesn’t coincides with the physical boundary between inside and outside . Consistent with the desire to not compromise the effect of spatial permeability, the necessary functional specialization of the various environments is not achieved by the use of brutal separations that would have interrupted the optical axes, but articulating the horizontal planes. The kitchen and dining area are recessed and from them, as from a trench , is possible to watch the outside spaces driven from the floor plan . In consequence of this space's opened organisation, are generated environments generally lacking of a rigid functional destination that they are aimed at a more natural and livability without fixed schematisms. This " hypothesis of a contemporary refuge" is just an excuse to propose an architecture with its protective attitude, subtly intended to evoke the unconscious memory of ancestral refuge that dwells in every human being, not through direct metaphors , but acting to a deeper level of perception , in an attempt to delineate the characters of an architecture "natural" strongly linked to human spirituality.
