We have recently moved into our new home, designed and built by Garth Chapman Queenslanders. We started the design process with GCQ back in Nov 19, only a few months before COVID first hit. For the entire process we were living interstate. Despite the significant challenges that COVID and being remote posed to the design and build phase, the professionalism and dedication of the entire GCQ team resulted in a fantastic home that we absolutely love. The existing home designs that GCQ have are excellent but making changes and adapting them is made straightforward by their designer. With each change I contemplated I was always kept informed of the cost impacts, so there were never any surprises. The GCQ designer was extremely proactive in offering suggestions and recommendations to meet our requirements within our budget. Throughout construction I was kept well informed of progress. When decisions by me were needed I was given ample information and plenty of time. Variations were never suddenly sprung on me, they were always discussed and explained in advance. Whenever I had queries, they were responded to in a thorough and timely fashion. I was always made to feel that I was the GCQ's team highest priority, even though I know they had several other clients that were no doubt also being made to feel the same way. It takes skill to have your clients feeling that way and it is a great demonstration of what a superb company that GCQ is. At final inspection that were only a small number of very minor defects identified, all of which were attended to quickly and without any fuss. The minor little ones that have been identified post final inspection have also been attended to in the same no fuss manner. Speaking of final inspection, the GCQ team put on some really thoughtful touches and created a sense of 'occasion'. It was clear that the GCQ were proud of their work and that they genuinely wanted me to feel the same way - I most certainly did! Since moving in neighbours, and random punters walking past have frequently commented on how good the house looks. Inside and out the place is fantastic. Entrusting GCQ with designing and delivering our family home was the best decision we could have made. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending GCQ to anyone who is after not just a house, but a high-quality home.

We chose Garth Chapman Traditional Queenslanders for our dream home in Clear Mountain, Brisbane. The planning and design process with Kevin was a breeze due to the absolutely gorgeous authentic traditional designs that GCTQ have on offer to choose from. GCTQ were very receptive to our needs throughout the entire process. We had a couple of issues along the way, as you would expect with any project. GCTQ were, on several occasions, very helpful and professional when addressing these issues. The staff were always very approachable and understanding when we needed their assistance. The quality of workmanship and attention to detail is certainly worth the little extra you would pay to engage these astute builders. We absolutely adore our home and often have visitors comment on how beautiful the place is. We would most definitely recommend GCTQ to those thinking of building a high quality traditional Queenslander.

We are very pleased with the final outcome. Excellent design allowing the Queenslander to merge well in to the surrounding landscape. This, together with professional finishes and attention to detail, has given us a beautiful home.

We would not hesitate in recommending Garth Chapman Queenslanders (GCQ) to anyone wishing to build their dream home. We found the team very professional and helpful in guiding us through the process from initial design through to completion of the build. We are very pleased with the quality of the build and finish. GCQ may not be the cheapest but the quality of the finished product represents good value. We would definitely use GCQ again but we don’t have to – they have already created our dream home. We first became aware of GCQ whilst searching for an acreage block on which to build and after visiting a display house of theirs we were impressed by the quality of design and finish. While we had a basic idea of what we wanted both in terms of style and layout, the GCQ architect was instrumental is translating those ideas into a workable design and added to the process by suggesting further enhancements to our ideas including reorientating the building envelope to reduce the amount of earthwork needed. We were very happy with the entire process from initial design through building and to the finished house. Building a dream home will always be stressful but the professionalism and good communications of the GCQ team meant that we always felt included and on top of the process. We were always kept up to speed on what was happening on site we were able to resolve any design details/build questions quickly - the GCQ team obviously has a good working relationship with its sub-contractors. The cost was in line with the original estimate with the only variations relating the items that we changed as the building progressed. There was only one minor issue that was discovered post-build and this was resolved satisfactorily and without fuss.

We built our current home with Garth Chapman over 9 years ago. We had spent extensive time researching other builders but could not go past the quality of this traditional Queensland style home. The service was great as they took the time to listen and work with us. Our home was built within the timeline provided and budget. We highly recommend Garth Chapman and given the opportunity would definitely build with them again.
