It took us six weeks to complete this project because 3 days into construction the client informed us that they didn’t have the door they promised to provide and asked us to contact our glass contractor to make a door for this project. This delayed our team by 3 weeks. When the project was completed and the cooling system turned on, it did check out. Unfortunately it shut itself down when the pump failed to properly discard the condensation (this occurred on a Friday afternoon – after hours). Our Tech (not a third party) was on site Monday to check out the system and found the drain lines had been hooked up backwards and were not allowing the condensation to flow, thus shutting down the unit. As for corners being cut, my crew made an onsite judgement call on how to install the insulation and vapor barrier around the existing ducts, plumbing lines and electrical. When requested, we gladly and immediately removed all the sheetrock, then reinstalled and added additional insulation and vapor barrier and re-sheetrocked the room. Regarding the air loss - while frameless, all-glass entries and doors are aesthetically pleasing – they do present issues in properly sealing a cellar. Our glass company makes every effort to tightly seal these doors, and are ultimately the ones that did the final fixes for you.
Sincerely,
Terry Dwyer
